I thought I saw something after Ben had left that the family was out in the midwest somewhere. I couldn't remember if it was Iowa

Sonny D to Angels 5-148.. Higher than I expected. Something tells me he wont like living there, if makes it that far.

Mason Barnett went 3rd rnd to KC. way higher than I expected. Didnt become part of AU rotation until injury. But was pretty good down stretch & post season. Had him penciled in as #2 -3 next year,,,guess not.

Not burst your bubble but in the last two 10+ round drafts (2019 and 2021), a grand total of 5(!) players didn’t sign that were drafted in the top 10 rounds.

3 in 2021: Rocker, Fabian, and Alex Ulloa
    Don’t know the 2 in 2019.

Odds are your boy is gone…

Rocker, 2 more from Top 10 rounds don't sign

Yeah, they all go don't they. Every year.

What about his draft position tips you off to this? Drafting him instead of someone else who would want the big dollars?

Feel free to hope but it is only a glimmer based on past years.

I haven’t compared to previous years but there are probably 50 players in the top 200 (per MLB.com) which haven’t been drafted yet. Feels quite high but I don’t chart that kind of data.

is this college players or total? Quite of few AU commit are suposse to go 5-10, most expected to show up to campus per rumors.. The C, Irish(last name) biggest risk.

No one, and I mean no one, had him top 3. The Rangers went out on a limb big time.

So why? I think they saw an underappreciated asset that would save them money in their draft position but was still an MLB ready arm. To me, it felt so anomalous that a deal must have been pre-arranged.

My point on Bright is couldnt care less either way... If he returns and in rotation again I wont be thrilled.. Was thinking he would be mid week guy next year...lol Gonzo , Mullins(back from injury) are 1-2 locked in baring unforseen

    Everyone.

Remember, this isn’t the best players. This is DRAFTED players. If drafted in the top 10 rounds, you are gone. Odds are greater than 99%!!! (based on the last couple drafts)

Bizarre thing is Alex Ulloa (committed to Ok St last year) was the 3rd one. 4th rounder. Why is it so bizarre? The Astros had no 1st or 2nd round picks two years in a row with last year being the 2nd year. Punishment for the sign stealing scandal.

And then they didn’t sign their 4th round pick?!?! Major fail!!!
