The first pediatric death due specifically to complications from COVID happened in Wake County in June 2020. Since then, there have been a handful of others, including a high school basketball player who was in perfect health. The difficulty is that some counties like to play games to fit their narratives. Some counties in our state define "pediatric" as 0-12 years, so that they do not have to include teens in the "pediatric death due to COVID". Others define it as 0-18 years. The level of lying and manipulation for political gain is infuriating, though not surprising. However, last good data I saw showed 7 confirmed pediatric deaths with several other questionable for cause. Most deaths were around Raleigh/Durham or Charlotte with one that I know about in Forsythe County because it was all over the local news.

The state no longer publishes pediatric mortality data, so even poor data is difficult to come by.

Just read a piece that said some scientists think covid can infect an animal, mutate, then infect a human who then infects other humans.

Interesting twist if true, that I haven’t thought about.

Except the vast majority aren't for "covid". Only kids with underlying conditions need to be vaccinated. It's not hard to understand, unless you aren't using common sense.

    Thanks for the info NC.
I do wonder though if "perfectly healthy" is another term for "unknown underlying condition".

Often underlying conditions dont manifest themselves at a young age.

It's possible these kids had issues that were previously undiagnosed.

I am sure kids have suffered lifelong effects from no knee or elbow pads too.
But head injuries are much more likely to lead to long term issues.

    I draw the line there.
It isnt a "fear" of the vaccine per se any more than I "fear" elbow pads. Its just unnecessary.

I just dont think the numbers dictate the need for vaccination of young kids.

They don't, and anyone throwing those numbers around without saying "50-60% are unrelated to covid" are just pushing an agenda. Don't know why they are pushing this agenda, but they are.

Yeah. I would almost guarantee that most if not all kids who die from covid had additional issues known or unknown.

Oh, and I was off on how many people are in the hospital because of covid. It's 90% of people are now incidentals, only 10% are because of Covid in LA.

I think that you are 100% spot on. That is why I cringe when people throw out statement like "this disease is nothing to healthy children". How do you know a child has an underlying condition, until you do?? For example, the majority of Type 1 diabetics are not diagnosed until their teen age years because a) you don't normally track blood sugar levels in children and b) the other symptoms are often not pronounced enough to be noticed until then. Yet, the abnormality in their immune system is still there and causing problems, so if they are suddenly infected by a novel virus that triggers an already abberant immune system into a horrific over response, then you have major problems.

I am not lobbying for anyone to vaccinate their children. I am not lobbying for anyone to vaccinate themselves. However, I do take issue with the same blanket statements that "children are not affected" because they are and "children do not need to be vaccinated" because some do, and you are taking a risk by not knowing which is which. That is certainly your decision to make for your own children however.

No one insinuates that all healthy children are immune from bad outcomes. The data is clear. And it shows that there is little reason to vaccinated kids. Especially with a new drug that has had some serious side effects for the younger population. Your kid is in far more danger from drowning or dying in a car accident than they are of dying of Covid. I agree with you that it is the parents call on whether to force their kids body to react to a drug that is unnecessary. But I think you understand that very few people literally mean no child is in danger if they say the quote you reference "children are not affected".

Most parents do see these drugs as unnecessary.

Just noticed England has their data our for April and May regarding covid deaths and vaccination status. It should surprise no one (Table 4)...

Deaths by vaccination status, England - Office for National Statistics

April was 96.4% and May was 96.2% of Covid deaths were fully vaccinated. I used the number breakdown for genders instead of age to save time as they have all sorts of third dose within the last 21 days second dose within so many days.

Totally valid point about undiagnosed issues the other way too.

Weve had our kids blood sugar levels checked.

Seems with the issues with nutrition in our country parents would demand this. Thats a bigger issue than covid and the flu combined. :(

Remember though Q almost everyone in England is vaxed, so even the small number of deaths will be mostly among vaxed people. The number would be higher among unvaxed if there were still many of those left, and the data shows that those folks would fare worse.
