That's a huge shock. He's gone now. Thought he might sneak in. However, we are fine at 1B for next two years. Just need to keep our C prospect and S Fl studs.

He has an unfair advantage based on scholarships grants no one else has. Trust me, if it weren't for that they would go back to being a cellar dweller like they were when I played.

It's the ability to fully fund, while playing in the SEC.

Unless and until Candy discloses and defines economic need and academic rigor to qualify NO one not affiliated with Candy will validate Opportunity Vanderbilt as anything other than BS to buy a team. The number 1 recruiting class 4 of ever 5 years. Corbs wins on talent alone.

If Corbs could coach his trophy case would look like Saban's

    Tomorrow will be telling.

We have some rather good people falling down a bit.

So does Jud get a better contract than the one he rejected last year? I certainly think the opportunity for early rise to majors is better with Baltimore franchise than Boston. Not sure he has any leverage here.

All-in-all, a decent day for UF. Xavier Isaac was a surprise that high but he wasn’t projected to make it to campus based on some sources.

Thompson should get good money. Glad Barco was drafted well. Jud did ok, not great but fine.

Still no Sproat so that option still exists. I expect he goes early in the 3rd/4th.

Felt like a draft where some teams took some chances early to save money for guys like Sproat.

It was good to see Thompson, Barco and Jud selected on the first night of draft. I thought Thompson might go a little higher but his slot value of ca $2.5 is ok.
Very pleased to see Pirates take a chance on an injured Barco - great kid and should do well if he fully recovers. Jud dropped 27 slots from last year and that will cost some serious money- but hey- he's in pro ball and Baltimore will be a faster track up the ladder than Boston. Sproat should be selected today- waiting to see when BT is selected. Plus of course trying to track UF commits and who will eventually show up on campus next month.

Os are the #1 farm system in MLB right now, or were prior to Rutchman promotion. Tons of SEC guys there he should know..lol

This would of been a better pick before they moved LF fences back at Camden Yards. Virtually impossible to hit a HR to LF now.

Thanks for the information- was not aware of the improved quality of Os farm system as they have been pretty poor team for some time now. Also unaware of the configuration changes at Camden Yards. If that's the case, Fenway would have been better fit for Jud pull power- had he made it that far.

yep its been a while, but currently on same win pace as last playoff appearance..2017 I believe.

Agree on Jud w/ Boston. Not to mention the money lost.

LF power alley now 398 w/ 13 ft high fence

The pick of Rocker at 3 screamed a deal was already done. Not surprised at the pace of this…

And the Rangers saving $2M allows them to really go after someone later. Interesting move by them.
