Study in Iceland shows zero children died of covid. Nice to have real numbers on the covid risk to children as opposed to what the US did when any kid died for any reason but "had" covid in the past 30-90 days got labeled a covid death. I know some children with underlying conditions did in fact die from covid, but those numbers are incredibly small. Zero reasons to vax kids, let alone put boosters in kids unless they have underlying conditions.

The omicron subvariant dominating U.S. COVID-19 cases is more vaccine-resistant

    Yes, but read this from the article . . . . .

But vaccines still provide much better protection than going without the safeguards.

Unvaccinated people have about a five times higher chance of contracting the virus than those who are vaccinated and boosted, while chances of hospitalization are 7.5 times higher, and chances of death are 14 to 15 times higher, said Dr. Gregory Poland, head of the Mayo Clinic's Vaccine Research Group.

However, the vaccine is still a complete failure to some on this site since it never cured cancer, or cleared up complexions. SMH

    This seems contradictory.

"Let me make a clear, clear point here that's a little tough to hear: Whether you've been vaccinated, whether you've been previously infected, whether you've been previously infected and vaccinated, you have very little protection against BA.5 in terms of getting infected or having mild to moderate infection," he said. "You have good protection against dying, being hospitalized or ending up on a ventilator."

I don’t think the first statement is correct.

You are extrapolating statistics from a nation smaller than Greensboro, NC and drawing conclusions? Why? We have nearly 500,000 people here in the Triad and not 1 child death from COVID. Yet, North Carolina as a state with 10,000,000 total people there have been nearly a dozen pediatric deaths due to COVID.

What is your point in showing a study of the population of half of Greensboro, NC?

My point is that covid isn’t dangerous for healthy children. We have posters on here pushing to vax children. Hell, the cdc now wants babies vaxxed with zero reason to do it. So yeah, what I posted is important for people to see. Luckily most people aren’t listening to the cdc on vaxxing their young kids.

Why? Data shows nearly 1000 children in the United States have died FROM COVID. 40% of those had zero co-morbidities, your so-called "healthy children". Which could just mean children with illnesses that have not been exposed yet.

Since there is no Republi-ban control of America yet, no one is being forced to do anything, so why the crusade? People should be free to follow the best medical advice, or crack pots on the internet to their own children's benefit or detriment.

What you need to know about the BA.5 omicron variant - Mayo Clinic News Network

This is the source document and does say both things. I’m having a hard time reconciling the two.

You really believe those numbers? I’ve posted some of the “covid deaths” in children and even the cdc says those numbers are exaggerated by about 40%. It’s ok to admit the cdc screwed up. Sure, you go vax your 1 year old. The rest of us wont and have zero worries about our children having any serious issues with covid. There is a reason all the “trials” showed no serious issues with either the control or the placebo group. Also there is a reason a lot of Europe isn’t vaxxing their very young children. Unfortunately our cdc became political. Seems you have as well. Truth hurts.

These two numbers seem hard to reconcile.

NC is averaging like 1 death per million people (age notwithstanding) but the rest of the country is almost tripling it?

I havent heard of a pediatric death over here in the eastern side of the state, heck I havent known a young kid to even have more than some sniffles. (My son included).

That 1000 number seems quite suspect to me. And my guess is there are other serious illnesses involved in many cases if that 1000 number is true.

Not questioning you NC, just the data you are quoting seems off.

Some time last year pediatrics hospitals were filling up with Covid cases. However deaths are rare and are typically immunocompromised. The death rate of children of Covid is comparable to that of the flu.

While death is rare I’m not sure why people wouldn’t get kid’s vaxed to avoid hospitalization or long Covid symptoms.

Same reason a lot of parents dont get their kids flu shots.

Look there are 100 ways to reduce risk in really small ways.

I dont make my son wear elbow pads when skateboarding. I just make him wear a helmet. Other parents make them wear elbow pads.

You draw your line somewhere. We all do.

Wow, these are same people who originally stated you wouldn't catch or spread covid either, then you needed a booster etc, etc, etc and you still believe them

So, in your opinion, death rates have been the same for the vaccinated and unvaccinated. No difference.

The data show that unvaccinated people have much higher death rates than vaccinated and boosted people. But don't let the facts get in the way of your delusional rants. :)
