Kudos for helping that old lady out. A certain contingent has made being “woke” and being a “social justice warrior” something negative but in reality it’s something that any decent human being should strive to be.
I don’t understand. He does sound like a real asshole, but I fail to see how this was racism. He could behave this way to everyone who causes him distress.

Ahhh, gotcha thanks. I've lived in FL long enough (including migrant communities) to be familiar with that ride. Those cars were everywhere when I lived near Tampa. We don't see 'em so much up here in northern MN.
Just the way he dressed down that lady then eventually called me a social Justice warrior even though I never said or implied anything about race. Obviously he clearly knew she was black and it was at the top of his mind. Not that I’m going to berate somebody for no reason in any case, I’d be less likely to with a black person because I don’t want them to view me as racist nor do I want to view myself as racist. Maybe, just maybe, in TX, a middle age beer bellied blue collar white male, with a ZZ Top beard, berates a harmless polite black female, and then calls her defender a social Justice warrior and in spite of it is just a “libbie” having a bad day. You be the judge.

Between the abortion and other laws, this kind of idiocy everywhere and the 100 degree plus heat every damn day I’d be happy to get the hell out of TX, but that isn’t likely because my wife has a good job there.

It isn’t one man. They are all around here. Most are just not as vocal about it. Oh and I don’t hate myself or whites in general. I see those on the right often saying that responsible and productive blacks should take responsibility for those that aren’t. Perhaps that is what I was doing today with whites. I don’t hate whites but I am embarrassed by those that act like the dude did today. Or to be honest, it might be that I just saw an opportunity to antagonize an asshole and took advantage of it.

I see a side of you I hadn't seen before - righteous indignation at a fellow human being treated poorly. We need more of us stepping up in those situations. Good for you, and for reporting him.
You sound pretty fired up so I’ll take your word for it. My only slight concern is how you have labeled this bad guy a racist. Seems that word is thrown around quite frequently these days and sometimes without any real justification. Maybe this was a bad guy having a bad day and he would have taken it out on anyone. I don’t know. I’m just not sure I’d call every a hole a racist.
