The new identity of Florida’s Flagship university, indoctrinating the state’s finest minds in contoured ignorance, and destroying what so many have built. And during the week Mary McLeod Bethune took her well deserved place in Statuary Hall TALLAHASSEE — The University of Florida has received $3 million in taxpayer funds to establish a new academic center focused on civics courses. But the university did not ask for it; a secretive group did. The group is so obscure that even the Florida lawmaker who asked the Legislature for the funding on the organization’s behalf does not know who is behind the group. But its representative, Holdenried, has a long history of working with conservative groups, like the Heritage Foundation, a conservative Washington-based think tank, and advancing the mission of religious organizations. Holdenried is the executive director of Napa Legal, a nonprofit that advises faith-based groups to “protect their organizations and achieve their missions” in a way that protects religious liberty in the public square. Holdenried is currently pursuing a master’s degree at Hillsdale College, a conservative Christian college with ties to DeSantis’ administration. He is also a board member of Free Speech, a group that often challenges what it believes to be the silencing of conservative voices on college and university campuses. who defines what is taught in the "civics" courses. First the state surgeon general, then the threats against professors testifying, and now this. DeSantis needs to GTHO out of UF.
This is one of the Koch charitable trusts IMO - or one like them. Billionaires “donate” to charitable trusts to reduce taxes, the group funded by the trust lobbies to reduce regulations unfavorable to the billionaires business and produces bought and paid for “scholars” to generate intellectual cover. In short, taxpayers pay to make life easier for polluting, anti-labor industry.
That is exactly what happened at GMU. Now coming to the flagship university in the nation’s 3rd most populous state.

Fascinating. Hey UF loves getting students and loves getting money. I'm sure they'll find someone to teach something useful to somebody. Don't be all doom and gloom about it.
We’ll, there will certainly be a week devoted to when it’s okay to refuse to accept the results of a valid election, promote an insurrection, and create a constitutional crisis. Similarly, a week needs to focus on how to change the electoral college so that state legislatures rather than the will of that state’s voters determine who gets to determine what gets certified to the House. There also needs to be a month devoted to how to turn our public schools into the Christian equivalent of madrasas.
