If we could only get 6 to 7 more overachieving teams to do what Louisville and Miami are doing, there could be so much more parity in college football by dispersing all the top players, i.e. not all going to OSU, Bama, and Georgia. Top 15 classes every year could put us in the conversation.

 

He only took one OV and that was to UT. Rumor is Texas paid him not to visit anywhere else.....This is getting really crazy.

They are certainly not “clean” but they are what 7th in recruiting?

DieAGator - the Hurricane staff has huge ties to recruiting Florida and coaching/recruiting in P5. Mario played and coached at UM and FIU before Bama and Oregon. Oregon was a top 10 recruiting program under Mario pulling the top kids from CA. He has a lot of great coaches/recruiters on his staff. Van Dyke, Ed Reed and Mike Rumph all played at UM and in the NFL. Their OL coach a long time HS coach in Miami and cos he’s at FIU, Marshall and Oregon. Charlie Strong is on the staff with many years at UF, Louisville, USF recruiting FL. Need to look at the UM staff. Top recruiters in P5 at Miami

 

Miami isn’t really recruiting Florida though. Not yet at least.

 

They're 8th right now. A couple of weeks ago they were, what, in the 40s? You're kidding yourself if you think it's anything other than NIL Ruiz money after their recent poor seasons. But, the light-hearted point of my comment was that there's nothing clean about UM.

 

I hope their coach gets caught with cocaine and hookers in a sleezy motel.

 

All this is absolutely true yet Ruiz is their best recruiter

 

And where are our money guys. They aren’t in the public making a stir about paying and we aren’t allowed to talk about our organizations that pay kids on here. There’s things going on we don’t know about I guess.

 

They have 4 kids from Miami committed l. 1 from Melbourne and 1 from Milton. Hardly recruiting florida. That money is reaching coast to coast. And Oregon only made top 10 recruiting twice. Usually avg in the teens. And that's with them greatly benefitting from the Cali schools and every other coastal school being garbage in a garbage conference. Not sure you have this kind of interest from this many top recruits just because you're a coach just over .500 and come to a school that has been beyond mediocre and is known for being cash strapped. What on earth comes off so appealing to all the top kids to want to all play there? Guess its coincidence that the arrival of Ruiz just so coincides with them potentially having an historical revruiting class.

Shades of Shapiro if you ask me. We've seen this movie 20 years ago.

 

There’s some pretty naive folks in the world.

 

I would say that most of us know nothing about anything that's going on behind the NIL scenes. Maybe that's what bothers me about this whole thing. I can tell by history and actions if someone is a good recruiter, I can tell if a school has a good tradition/brand, I can tell if a coach is good at developing kids and building a culture, I can tell if kids seem to like/respect our coaches. But, I have no idea who has more money on the table, and, there probably aren't very many people here that do.

 

Results are pretty good clues though. It’s understandable for kids to go to Bama at this point. I think they are dirty too but A&M and Miami winning recruit battles against Saban at this juncture. Get real.

 

Now those are the creative entrapment ideas we need! Lol

 

Trick is to not use em both up before he gets there.
