I have faith in the American people again, that 2016 was an anomaly and trump doesn't stand a chance, even in the primary.

Were it not for the mention of Halle Berry I would consider that a reasonable post. On the other hand one political party did nominate a celebrity with absolutely no political experience and no demonstrated competence that he had the capacity to govern and not only did that candidate win the party's nomination he was actually elected to the presidency.

Halle was my attempt at a little levity, plus it gave me the opportunity to pull up some pictures of her. Drop dead gorgeous.

Your post so perfectly describes Donald Trump and the people who voted for him, that I have to ask you if your post was tongue in cheek.

How do you suggest we create "affordable housing", not being a dick just curious on your ideas.

This is all true of course but we really didn't need that extra 1.9(1.8) Trillion package, it just juiced a hot system even more.

By electing someone that will actually do something about this problem. Too many HOAs and business interests have shaped policy, rules, & regulations toward affordable housing to NOT be built. Builders have been building the chit out of luxury apts but won't touch affordable housing w/o being forced to.
SO get someone in power that WILL actually make it a priority to get millions of affordable places built, fight special interest to do so, and move towards creating laws & regulations for the people that need housing instead of just the rich & private businesses.
Not sure it can be done at this point but I want/need to hear that it is a priority from a candidate. Nobody has done anything about this for forty years.

With the massive increase in materials and labor cost I'm not sure what can be done to build "affordable housing. The per SQ foot price has literally tripled in the last 10 years. Unless we see drastic drops in materials an labor(if you can get labor) it's not coming down.
I see tons of "entry level" houses being build by tract builders starting in the 300's.....
