No. I actually understand your point. The resident liberal friends will divert attention to make you seem like you support sexual harassment, while intentionally missing the point. She opened a can of worms in a very ugly world. I dont like it, but that is the reality. How about not supporting any harassment there AOC? How about understanding that harassment is dangerous because weirdos will go to far. She cant dictate which harassment is good and which is bad. They are all bad. I am just stating that this harassment was indeed sexual.
Sure, but stop acting like what happened in that restaurant wasnt also harassment. Even a liberal lawyer stated such in this thread. How about if everyone just stop crossing the line from protest to harassment. Period.
Alex Stein. Pro troll. He’s been around a while. He goes to school board and city council meetings and raps or asks for ridiculous things and puts it on his YT channel. I believe he considers himself a comedian.
I'm not sure how protestors gathering OUTSIDE a steakhouse to protest a SC Decision is harassment. If they gathered around his table, started attacking his family or anything of the like then we can have that discussion -- but from all ive read that did not happen. I've also read that BK had no idea they were protesting outside until he was notified and left out the back door.
They can restrict access to the capitol building, as SCOTUS did to the Supreme Court building. That would solve the issue of hecklers harassing members going to work. Or more preferably they could cordon off an area for employees to access the building without having to walk through hecklers. Any way you slice it, there are options for Congress to protect its members that have nothing to do with protests on public sidewalks in front of a restaurant.
reminds me of borat and Bruno. While I know it irritates, I find it funny. Am I a bad guy for laughing?
Aww come on. I almost thought you got it. The point isn't that Congress can protect it's members (which is true), the point is that not all speech in any manner or time is protected, even if it's in a public forum.
Well she complained about fearing for her life on Jan 6th when she wasnt even there. So it seems we can complain and be fearful about things we dont hear. But the Morton's spokesperson called what happened at their restaurant "harassment"...and "void of decency". My guess is that means it went a bit beyond protesting.
Except, nobody arrested him because his speech, while repugnant, was protected by the First Amendment. Heck, he did it right in front of a cop, who didn't arrest him.
IMO This is Morton's protecting their image so they can keep clients on both ends of the aisle. They have to do this. Overall - we agree harassment of any kind is bad -- I just find the Morton's situation to not be harassment from what has been reported, and shouldn't be used to attack AOC because this crossed the line. If the guy sat there and called her a baby killer or protested her political views that would have been protesting. The minute he started speaking about her body it became sexual harassment.
Look her brand of hyperbole makes her hard to believe at times. That will bite her on something like her claim to be a survivor. (She feared for her life on Jan 6th from another building etc) Survivors bear a tragic cross and its no laughing matter, bit she could help by not giving people the ammo, don't you agree?
What do you mean she wasn't there? She was in the Capitol complex on January 6. It sounds like you went for this claim that received 4 Pinnochios. https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...o-cortezs-recounting-jan-6-riot-was-not-hoax/ BTW, that claim was made by a woman who used to follow her around DC for her online videos...and who Republicans then elected to Congress.
I'm sorry - is there some imaginary world where republicans have not protested against public figures before Kavanaugh had his steak dinner interrupted? ‘There’s nowhere I feel safe’: Georgia election workers on how Trump upended their lives Democratic lawmaker surrounded and harassed by MAGA fans in airport Houston congressman harassed at airport; calls it 'weaponization of hate' Arizona election officials resign over threats about 2020 Reuters unmasks Trump supporters terrifying U.S. election officials This was a problem, and has been a problem, in both directions. But you celebrating it in an AOC thread just kind of shows us what kind of person you are. Cheers.
