They’re either getting paid in advance illegally. Or they’re signing contracts for obscene amounts of money that probably won’t ever come through. But my guess is they’re at least getting partial amounts up front in advances

i can see that. I honestly dont mind it because at some point, hopefully we’ll jump in that race and get it together because NIL stuff isn’t just only for football, it’s all sports

You don’t have to really pay the water polo team as there’s no money at stake in the first place. Football and basketball only. Gymnastics maybe and track? A player here or there in other sports.

Don't want to sidetrack the conversation, but Baseball is an interesting one. Not only do they get a max of 11.7 scholarships for the 35-player roster, they can now possibly compete with the MLB draft for some players.

Agree for the most part…but does that explain Simmons and Kearney?

Having two online coaches is a brilliant move by Napier. Oftentimes, a player doesn't wind up liking his online coach.
    (Personally differences, style, delivery, etc.)
Let's just wait when a 5 Star freshman gets ticked off at his position coach and remembers.
"Oh yea...Florida has TWO offensive line coaches."

Do you have info on their deal? I’m sure they just love the school and coach.

would be the first time a 5 star o lineman hit the portal, no? I’m not confident relying on transfers at most positions, especially OT.

Maybe busted NIL deals will lead to some more elite talent in the portal but until it happens, not counting on it.

Miami worries me short term. But they’ve not turned these bursts of “we’re back” into any sustained success for 20 years. I was hoping they would go 8-4 again in the ACC this year and some of these recruits would jump ship but have you looked at their schedule? They could easily go 11-1 with Van dyke… they may have momentum for a couple years.

I was saying elsewhere, OL are ok not starting for 2 or 3 years, maybe 4 (until rs senior), and if they transfer they were already passed over at all 5 positions.

Considering this, they might be as important (if not more) than QB recruits. We might have to start outbidding here. If one happens to enter the portal, for like Norvell getting fired, we'll have to outbid then as well. Gotta outbid for the ones left and work Simmons.
Doesn't matter if that recruit won't visit yet, the lb from GA just picked miami without visiting because "he's got family there"

I have no info at all. I believe apk said one of them got a better nil deal but he might have been joking. I have read that their OL coach is a strong recruiter

Strong recruiter with a check. Very rare to find free labor.

I read somewhere that NC coach Brown told a recruit in his office to go ahead and get the coach of another team offering him 350k on the phone, so the recruit can sign with them.

Is this a wildly different coaching staff than the one that got skulldrug by Utah twice? I see auto losses at Clemson and aTm on their schedule.

Precisely why Rui$ is spending so much on them. He wants to buy a 'ship and this is the time to do so.
