I love talking about it? You mean discussing them in threads that someone else starts?

Well you sure love to play it. My guess is if some people didnt employ inclusive language, you would still hold the same views. So what really is your objection?

Take your abortion demagoguery to the proper thread. There are many people, especially Republican politicians (including the Governor of Florida), quite intent on denying them their humanity. The fact that you are so intent on misgendering them shows you're one of them.

“Staking a flag” or simply acknowledging reality that a certain % of these cases exist? I say the latter. So-called conservatives seem to have issues acknowledging reality. Instead preferring to create alternate reality bubbles where uncomfortable things don’t exist or everything can be defined in the most simplistic terms possible. I’m far from into the “pronoun” stuff, actually have no idea what half that is, but to suggest a non-binary person can’t get pregnant or a trans-male cannot is just dumb. It’s physiologically possible and in fact it happens.

Considering trans population is barely 1% and “nonbinary” 5% it would obviously be rarer still to see a pregnancy, but it can and does happen. To pretend otherwise is just failing to acknowledge truth. These are millions of people we are talking about just in the U.S. What % are physiologically capable of pregnancy or annually get pregnant I have no idea, but to deny this reality is pretty sick imo. What is the point of this dumbassery anyway? To deny them healthcare? To take their kids? Put them in jail? There is no upside to going down Hawley or the Christian right’s path…

You unintentionally hit on the crux of your problem here. Belief has absolutely nothing to do with this. There are, in fact, non-binary human beings both in existence and that are are born every single year. There is conflict between reality and your “belief”.

Feeling very tired of many "conservatives" being cruel to a group of people who are different simply because that groups wants to exist and be themselves. We've seen this sort of behavior happen again and again during this country's history, and I know exactly where I stand.

Dude. The professor brought it into an abortion hearing and your telling me to take it to the proper thread?

"Misgendering" wasnt even a term 10 minutes ago.

Its ok for everyone to not drop their centuries old position the minute someone like you demands it.

You cant accept that someone can both disagree with someone and still care about them. The left has removed that nuance as a political weapon. Do as we say or you are a bigot or as you called me upthread, an A hole.

Your inability to have any perspective is a you problem. I have shared my personal story here two times about just how close I am to this situation and a transgender child close to our family.

My live hasnt lessened one bit. I do feel she is confused and being led by people encouraging her down the path, but it doesnt change the fact that I love this kid. Her dad is like a brother to me.

I dont call her out or make it a point of contention because we love them.

I hired a transitioning person (knowing it because of name changes on their background check). They were the best fit. I hired them. One day they came into my office and told me that they appreciated my willingness to hire someone that they knew saw the world different. (I guess someone else assumed this, because I never discussed this with another person. Maybe he assumed it because of my faith?)

So keep painting people who see it differently as this or that. Thats on you man.

What you want is military type compliance. No nuance. Immediate shift to whatever progressive cause comes along.

So ho ahead, call me an A hole for not seeing the world through every new move that happens.

I will sleep just fine knowing that I have never and will never mistreat or fail to love those that see it different than I do.

You deny them nothing in my opinion.
Health care should be equal for all. Jail? Who is suggesting that? Take their biological kids? Who is asking for that?

I just dont want to be called a bigot if I think men cant get pregnant.

Biological anomalies are their own sad story, but a man can't have a baby. It's not bigoted to say that.

Non binary isnt the same as self identifying.

I have discussed biological anomalies many times here. They are sad cases and probably very difficult to navigate.

The pushback is never about that group.

The pushback is against anyone who doesn't conform to gendered expectations.

Ok, I dont know when the term came to be, but I'm 100% sure people called women a "man" or men a "girl/woman" to intentionally belittle them for centuries prior to you hearing the word.

Hawley criticized the Court - an Opinion written by Gorsuch - for holding that employment discrimination laws also protect LGBT people. He thinks states should be able to ban gay marriage, but I think he knows that's a losing issue politically so he doesn't talk much about that.

Hawley has said that the government is a means to carry out Christ's rule. He obviously believes Christ has views about LGBT issues, and it's apparently Hawley's job to promote those views through government. That's fine. He can try to do that. But he's just playing dumb here, and the implication of what he's "asking" is that being transgender isn't really a thing - that transgender men don't exist. I understand her frustration with him, but also think she could have played it better to the audience.

She used inclusive language, and Josh Hawley being the intolerable jerk he is decided to play stupid to try and pick a fight. But you can read the title of this thread. It's not about abortion. Take your objections to the proper thread. I'm happy to tell you that fetuses aren't persons there.

According to Merriam Webster, it was first used in 1989.

It depends on the position, right?

There isn't nuance here. It costs you nothing to call people by their preferred gender/pronouns. If you make a mistake, I say no harm no foul. But you aren't making a mistake. Transgender people exist, whether you like it or not.

This sounds exactly like what most "conservatives" used to say about gay people.

That's great! Did you use that person's preferred pronouns and recognize them as their preferred gender?

Equal rights for groups that aren't harming others and treating those people with respect are where I am inflexible.

You've got an interesting way of showing your "love."
