IMHO - Perhaps the most significant technology on the platform is the ability to differentiate the composition of gases in planet atmospheres.

Oddly, and this is a real kick, the best chance to determine sentient life is if that life introduces pollutants into the atmosphere, which, Webb can detect.

And this, of course, is where we disagree my fine friend from N Carolina.

If you recall I had a level of agreement with you about the possibility of "intelligent design", where I part ways with you, with extreme prejudice, is that "intelligent design" has anything to do whatsoever with the Judeo-Christian designer you subscribe to.

    As always, with respect.

It’s a picture of space/time. I’m awe struck, as I was a few days ago learning of the latest research about how birds navigate when migrating great distances. Whether large or small, it’s a profound mystery. Our brains are trying to understand what I believe will ultimately be incomprehensible.

I just have ask a question for which I know you have an answer: Where did the creator come from?

They (she was transgender) were too busy, but did finally get around to us. I especially like how they sent their son - not daughter - to be cruelly crucified, but has been in hiding since. I can see why! I’ve always wondered why we humans have to believe something when they could appear to the human race and settle the matter.

My human mind is finite and cant comprehend the infinite. I believe the creator has always been and will always be.

These images are comforting to me, because they reaffirm my belief that there is way more than human minds can comprehend.

In that case, why can't time be infinite with no creator? Having said that, I understand the impulse to believe there must have been a beginning. I can't comprehend it either.
I don't know that they comfort me so much as leave me flabbergasted in awe. Its so frustrating to know I most likely will never know.

we are one with it, born out of it, whether we can comprehend it or not.

like a wave trying to comprehend the ocean

A universe experiencing itself if you will..

am I th eonly one who thinks we are being prepped for news about ET? first all the info on military onbservations to try and give it credibility, then hearings, then the new space telescope that can see so well and it was quoted it would be used to search for ET, and now this. I guess this should be where they focus next

Scientists unearth mysterious radio signal that sounds like a heartbeat BILLIONS of light years away (msn.com)

A radio signal that beats like a heart in an unknown galaxy billions of light-years from Earth has been discovered by scientists.

The pulses from its source are a million times brighter than similar stars in our own galaxy and the radio bursts last 1,000 times longer than average.

Researchers say the signal, which is a type of fast radio burst, appears to be flashing with surprising regularity.

However, the source of the burst, which was observed from Canada, remains a mystery.

Fast radio bursts come from an unknown place in space but tend to only last a few milliseconds at most.

This one lasts for up to three seconds, around 1,000 times longer than the average fast radio burst.

The team detected bursts of radio waves that repeat every 0.2 seconds in a clear pattern similar to that of a beating heart.
