at least my value isn’t antivax and discouraging others from getting vaxxed. And they should deny science, doctors advice, nurses, icu first hand accounts, the medical community, and stats.

Is everyone bashing the messenger because deep down they know that the US is still living in 2020 with a vaccine mandate for a vaccine created for variants that barely exist anymore?

Cmon. This mandate is stupid if no exceptions can be made.

They played the NBA and NHL playoffs in 2020 with no vaccine. This isn't even a team sport.

    It's nonsense.

    I am fully vaxed,
    I support the vax.
Think vaccine deniers are dead wrong.

    This? This is nonsense.

You think the vax mandate should still exist for a singles tennis player?

I will definitely bash 15th century mentality mumbo-jumbo messengers while they absurdly accuse science believers as "true science deniers". That is the only nonsense from the OP.

Is there a way to keep Kyrgios out too?

If the vaccine provides protection to the vaccinated, then it sounds pretty silly to justify mandates in the name of protecting the vaccinated... because they are already protected. But if the vaccine does not provide significant protection or if we know it does not provide significant protection, then you cannot justify mandates. Why? Because you are mandating a significantly ineffective drug. And let's be clear, the virus spreads from human to human whether vaccinated or not. That's just a fact that cannot be disputed.

Why are we continuing to ignore natural immunity and strong robust immune systems? Is natural immunity a conspiracy theory?

I have never said to not get vaccinated. It does not make mush sense at this point. But if you want to get jabbed…I support your ability to take as many jabs as you think you need for your health.

He is fun to watch when he can keep his head in the match. That match ended in the second set as Kyrgios mentally gave Djokovic all he needed to see…

***that said it was high level tennis outside the few times Kyrgios lost it mentally***

LOL. Science believers say one of the healthiest people in the world who has had Covid twice should not be allowed in this country at this point.

    LOL!!!

I think you are onto something.

I do not report things. But I think I might report the personal name calling this time. I don’t want it edited. Or deleted. As it shows the person they are. But this is the bigger reason why this forum has lost so much from what it use to be.

I don’t believe exceptions should be made for sports stars or celebrities. If we have a rule on people entering the country, then we have a rule on people entering the country, no matter who you are. He has chosen not to be vaccinated and I respect that choice. And he’s accepting the consequences of his choice, that is, no entry into this country. Fine.

What really bothers me is that the million people a year who come across our southern border illegally, including asylum-seekers, are not required to be vaccinated. We release them fanning out all over the country without requiring them to be vaccinated.

It becomes even more ludicrous if they show up at an immigration court. Every employee in that court must be vaccinated, however, the illegal alien and his attorney are not required to be vaccinated. If we’re going to require vaccines for people to come into this country, then require it of everyone, not just legal entries but illegal entries also.

Funny how the same people that tout natural immunity also offer examples of people that have had Covid multiple times.

I'm not clear on this. Is it a Federal law/regulation or is it up to the U.S. Open? I've never been a fan of his, but he's one of the best of all time and it would be a shame for him to miss it. At this point, I would think daily testing and some other precautions should be enough. On the other hand, I can get why people might be opposed if he's asking for special treatment. I'm just not clear if that's the case here or not.

I mean I could say, funny how people that tout vaccine effectiveness ignore examples of vaccinated people that have had Covid multiple times.

Its time for some present day realities.
Vaccine mandates are no longer needed. We are beyond that.

The vaccine has been a great tool in slowing this pandemic. I am certainly glad I got it.

I am not however going to sit here and keep preaching the sermons of last year.

We need to move on.... Or come up with a current treatment for the new strands.

I haven't looked up stats, but I feel like it's not that rare for Djokovic to go down in the first set - like it takes him awhile to get warmed up or something. But you're right that Krygios seems to have some issues. McEnroe was suggesting it is a fear of failure. I couldn't understand most of the time what he appeared to be yelling at his team, but I thought they weren't suppose to be coaching during the match anyway. Did they change that?

Federal law; currently non-citizens are not permitted to enter the country, legally, without being vaccinated. I won't get outraged by it, but I do think it's a joke. Popular tourist destinations were bending over backwards to make the testing requirement as smooth as possible (for US citizens returning). Many have dropped their testing requirements to enter their country and had a ridiculously ineffective testing procedure to help validate you for your return flight. Just my opinion, but regardless of how one feels about the rules in principle, in practice it's a joke.
