Look I get you guys truly believe in the vaccines, me and several others equally do not believe in them. We have shown doctors and experts to prove our point as you and others have done to prove yours. It just comes down to who the individual trust. I really don't care if you or anybody else agrees with me, it's my life. If you trust and believe in the shot, and what you're getting is truly protecting you, then keep getting the jab

It’s too bad this thread has turned into conspiracy theories and just inaccurate information. I actually come in here to get the latest on Covid. All I see is; it’s not true, vaccines don’t work, don’t listen to doctors and hospitals but instead “do your own research”.

we almost need a separate thread for those who believe the medical community, science, stats, logic and don’t avoid vaccines. It actually might help some people.

Just because you do not know what a vaccine is or how it works does not make these less of a vaccine than MMR, DTAP or polio.

Booster number 5 designed for the same ancestral spike protein is waiting for you…

The good news is most have finally engaged the science and are refusing to vaccinate their young children with an archaic drug for a disease that is not dangerous to them. But I support your ability to take as many jabs as you need in less than two years…

I know what a vaccine is Einstein and the one that you and others believe isn't really effective all

Hint: If you want to be snarky, it's best to at least try it intelligently. LOL

This is what our self-proclaimed intelligent local's resort to when they don't have answers, or they can't force you to agree with them.

I agree. I still check in because occasionally somebody may post some interesting news or developments. But it’s hard because it is mostly disinformation and people pointlessly refuting the disinformation, over and over again. I can block the disinformation but can’t really block those refuting it. The only solution would be a thread with actual developments devoid of non fact based political nonsense.

It's the same people saying that vaccines don't work and how they and others have moved on but for some reason they won't move on from this thread

Clearly you don't since people who know what vaccines are wouldn't say they don't believe that covid vaccines are vaccines. It's not a matter of your belief.

I can tell you that most of them who took the jabs and still got covid, some 3 times already. No longer trust or believe in the shot, jab or vaccine as you believers like to call it

Ok then let's call it a vaccine that's pretty much useless. Clearly you know this since so many are still getting infected, sick and even those who did get t booster shots it didn't stop them from infecting others and getting re-infected. Yea your vaccine that you choose to believe in isn't really that good.

Natural Immunity 97 Percent Effective Against Severe COVID-19 After 14 Months: Study (theepochtimes.com)

Natural Immunity 97 Percent Effective Against Severe COVID-19 After 14 Months: Study

The protection against severe illness from so-called natural immunity remains superior to the protection bestowed by COVID-19 vaccines, according to a new study.
“Effectiveness of primary infection against severe, critical, or fatal COVID-19 reinfection was 97.3 percent … irrespective of the variant of primary infection or reinfection, and with no evidence for waning. Similar results were found in sub-group analyses for those ≥50 years of age,” Dr. Laith Abu-Raddad, with Weill Cornell Medicine-Qatar, and colleagues said after studying long-term natural immunity in unvaccinated people.

That percentage is higher than the protection from COVID-19 vaccines, according to other studies and real-world data.

Swedish researchers, for instance, found in May that two doses of a vaccine were just 54 percent effective against the Omicron variant of the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus, which causes COVID-19.

Oh look, this old shot down trope again (sigh). Can we all get that natural immunity shot please. I know science is difficult for some, but have someone explain how to obtain natural immunity. Then, by examin ing the US mortality rates pre-vaccine calculate that deaths in the US would have been 5M+ instead of 1M. Since poster placed the article with no comment, we must believe that this is just another failed attempt to make an antivax statement.

Wasn’t super excited about a second booster but my booster was out of date and we are hopping on a European cruise next week. (Wife booked 6 months or so ago when Covid looked to be waning). I wanted to do hiking in Glacier.

Lots of procedures to go. A witnessed Covid test to get on…. Must show vax status and if you are not vax you have to be tested daily.

Really good actual data showing just how effective vaccines have been in real world settings, and re-defines the previous statements about "waning effectiveness" by separating the study group of ~20, 000 people into 2 sub-groups: immunocompromised and those who are immunocompetent.

In separating the data, protection against severe disease in immunocompetent people changed only from 78% before 3 months to ~ 74% after 3 months (in this case fully vaccinated as having to prime shots and the third shot referred to now as the boost shot). Separating out immunocompromised showed that this group was disproportionately affected and with significantly lower vaccine effectiveness and a greater degree of waning.

The study include people affected in the first waves of the Omicron strain (BA.1 and BA.2). These data confirm that the longer term protection from the vaccine against severe disease and hospitalization does not wain like originally reported after the study groups are segregated into sub-populations.

Excellent job of continuing to follow up on preliminary studies to add to the database of understood knowledge.

Take away: Being fully vaccinated (now defined as 2 prime shots + 1 booster) continues to provide significant long term protection against severe disease and hospitalization, calling into question the need for a 4th shot, especially in the face of how well the latest variants evade the neutralizing antibodies that are part of the initial immune response.

NOTE: immunocompromised status was defined using previously published criteria,
included diagnosis of leukemia, lymphoma, congenital immunodeficiencies, asplenia or hyposalemia, HIV/AIDS, history of hematopoietic stem cell or solid organ transplantation, or receipt of immunosuppressive medication.
