Who says recruits get paid more? I haven’t seen any evidence of such. Nape said he was taking care of existing roster first as would any coach with half a brain.
I'm not talking g about CBN, I'm saying I do not personally see Ruiz cutting a 8 million or 10 million dollar check or whatever amount they request, to the majority of the 2 deep roster of a crap team as they were last couple years. I mean to him the purpose of him spending his millions is to upgrade the roster with new talent, this year and the next and the next. But if he is spending another 30- to 50 million on players already on the roster then how long could this actually go on. I believe that the fact that most of the existing players on the roster will have to seek a true NIL deal with a company based off the value of their NIL will cause divide toward the incoming players who are getting millions before even playing a down under the guise of NIL , regardless of their name, image or likeness is ever really used for promotional purposes.
FSU? Lol. Dumpster fire. O line coach is a good recruiter (not sure of his development ability since their o line still stinks ) but that whole staff will be fired within 2 years.
I do think with all the NIL dealings, normal attrition and conference realignment that there will be a far healthier selection of athletes this year to choose from.
I kind of disagree. Especially where it comes to OT, where we have struggled on the trail. Pretty much not a single great OT has ever entered the portal. Can’t think of any. Some decent to good guards but awesome OL in general seem to be a rarity in the portal. Maybe because 5 guys get to play so unlike qb where one dominated snaps so the qbs transfer, o linemen - great ones- don’t bother transferring since hey have 5 positions to battle for.
You know how that goes sometimes. It makes us feel better about losing a 3* star kid by diminishing his skill-set on a sports forum. I at-least wait till they sign with another team, because after that? They are Gator Bait.
This is all great in theory but when the season rolls around it’s our 3 and 4 stars against UGA and bama’s 5 stars.
There was an interesting quote after this year's cocktail party. Can't quote it exactly but when describing when the game turned on one of the turnovers before half time the author wrote how a 5 star defender beat a 3 star lineman causing a rushed throw that was intercepted by another 5 star player. Followed up by a pick 6 from a 5 star player... It was pretty disappointing to see how recruiting stars numbers added up to the result on the field in live action. I think stars are sometimes overrated but when you hoard elite prospects the way some schools have like never before in this Saban era, its pretty tough to overcome.
Yep. You might whiff on a single 5* but your odds of striking gold vastly improve the more 5*'s you collect.
