The issue will be with how older players take to all the talk about unsigned, unproven players coming in making twice as much or more. The minute those new guys start messing up the scrutiny from the senior teammates will be hell. There will be a divide in many locker rooms this year, that much is almost certain.
Isn't that also speculation? I don't believe every top 25 program is bending or breaking rules but UF is playing it straight directly or by interdiction(?) by our administration. And I also do not believe that if UF did exactly what other schools are doing, that we would be prosecuted for crimes. That's just nonsense to me. I do not know what's going on but we are getting left behind, at the moment. Good defensive recruiting so far but offense is really poor.
Yeah, Muschamp was an outstanding recruiter if he only needed to play defense. Unfortunately, there is this pesky issue about needing to score points to win games. His recruiting on offense was beyond pathetic. Which is why I cannot accept him as a good recruiter, and it annoys me a bit when people say he was.
With two OL coaches, we have to be crushing it on the OL (and are just doing well instead) and our receiver coach is probably more of a developer. Not having the QB coach who should be a dog on the recruiting trail, we are hamstrung a bit on offensive recruiting.
Are there a lot of QB coaches who are dogs on the trail? I don’t think the position matters all that much. Can you connect with the players? Can you sell your school? And can you convince the player what they need, or find a way to get what they want.
Wrong, we got played. the vast majority of OL are 3* and he is a high 3*. He used his commitment to us for a scUM payday.
Normally they have less responsibilities if they are not the OC so their primary objective is to recruit. That is probably why our last QB coach was responsible for the talent rich South Florida recruiting territory.
i think it’s too early to tell because he wasn’t at a school that got to recruit these top kids. Give it next cycle imo and we’ll see what he’s about
Napier can only recruit the offense so much with all his other responsibilities. That makes me think the OL coaches and Peagler have to do better than they have been doing.
