OMG. This is the ideology that abortion clinic bombers and killers adopt to justify their evil acts. So pathetically ironic you begin by accusing someone of corrupting words then deliver this nihilistic screed based on God’s love. Despicable

First, the Bible isn't one book. It is a library of books. The book was, I believe, the first book of Western civilization. It inspired countless poems, works of art, and musical works. It is almost certainly is the most referenced work in the Western canon. It in many ways shaped Western civilization That doesn't make it true but it makes it powerful. What are you basing your beliefs on? what do you use as an excuse to rule with impunity? The universe has waited for you to emerge and the stars have aligned to reveal to you at this sacred moment the TRUTH? Get back to me when you insire a Bach.

People who kill to take justice into their own hands supplant God's ordained role for the state. The state has authority from God to kill murderers, not you, me, or any abortion protestor.

Yes it's an inspirational BOOK made up of other BOOKS and Chapters. When you buy a Bible you buy one book that contains everything.

Think you took that way too hard.

I can only imagine what's said. But it's typical of those preaching "God's Love". Like this guy featured by the BBC that said he had no advice for homosexuals other than to put a bullet in their head.

Or like this guy playing the "victim" for "mistakes", then one of his 16 yo victims came to "testify" before the congregation...met with cover up after cover up. Many girls like her told to shut up, get abortions, etc, all while the men preach "the Lord's word"

Prolifers preaching hatred & bigotry, then when called out playing the victims. Women are the true victims of what has continued to be a systematic use of religion as a weapon. Using God to justify things like spousal abuse & rape, child brides, polygamy, the murder of indigenous peoples, stealing babies from tribes & young mothers from "pregnancy" centers....it goes on and on.

Then when women (and thankfully some men) stand up and say no more, here come the religious fanatics spewing hatred, malice, and viciousness and call themselves "Christians".

This Catholic doesn't stand for that. I don't like abortion. I believe life is sacred. BUT THAT ISNT MY CHOICE TO MAKE FOR EVERYONE ELSE!!!

I am not God! I am not the judge of others. Let people live and love as THEIE beliefs dictate. What is so DARN HARD about that?

It's that level of hatred and intolerance that has turned churches into wastelands. Not because people don't love God. But because of the sheer hatred so many Christians portray.

Unfortunately, if what you are saying is true, you've got a pastor who doesn't know his Bible. 1 Corinthians 6 speaks of members of the Corinthian church who used to be homosexuals, but they are no longer homosexuals after becoming new creations in Christ.

The right advice to homosexuals or those who have had abortions is the same advice that a doctor gives to someone who has had a heart attack, a stroke, or cancer. You give them the bad news about their current condition and the lethal threat the condition they are in presents. Then you give them the good news that there is a remedy for their current condition. People who deny the desperate nature of their condition and do not seek the necessary remedy for it end up dying, and it is their own fault because of their pride they won't come to Jesus. Pride is deadly, and it prevents many from laying hold of the perfect savior that they desperately need.

You honestly think they care? It's all collateral damage that's necessary in their Holy War.

You wouldn't say "Well, I think murder is wrong in my religion, but if you want to murder then I respect your right to choose for yourself." If your stance towards someone like Ted Bundy or Hitler is not identical, then you are being wildly inconsistent.

You are one twisted individual. Every one of your posts reinforces why I hate organized religion. They are twisted to make people conform and keep people in line all throughout history.

The "unborn" aren't persons and aren't capable of having freedom. And fetuses aren't "babies." You are the one redefining words. And I don't call Christians who merely oppose abortion "fascists." I call Christians who seek to destroy the separation of church and state and impose their beliefs on the rest of us "fascists."

P.S. Christians have persecuted Jews too, so I don't need a lecture from you on what has happened to my people.

P.P.S. Abortion preexisted the eugenics movement, so it can't be a "fruit" of it.

Isn't it convenient how God sanctions the killings you agree with?

Speaking of lying. You claimed that "Fascist Germany really loved abortion." That is false. They specifically outlawed it for any Aryan people from the beginning and expanded their denial later. On March 9, 1943, Nazi Germany passed a law that stated "a woman who kills her fetus or permits such a killing by another will be punished by a prison sentence and, in especially serious cases, by penitentiary. An attempt is punishable. Whoever else kills the fetus of a pregnant woman will be punished by a penitentiary sentence, in milder cases by prison. If the perpetrator through such deeds continuously impairs the vitality of the German Volk, the death penalty can be imposed. Whoever procures for the pregnant woman a means or objects for killing the fetus will be punished by prison sentence, and in especially serious cases, by penitentiary."

That looks like your preferred policy.

BTW, Mussolini outlawed abortion, Francoist Spain outlawed abortion, Portugal already outlawed abortion prior to Fascism, but they expanded those denials to literally any medication that could cause an abortion. I am struggling to find a Fascist regime that allowed abortion, generally with the concerns arising out of either religious grounds (and they helped get the religious to stand up for their regimes through laws like this) or through some concern that abortion lowered the power of the state.

I think the Jews would take issue with Christians being the ones prosecuted. Nazi Germany was roughly 50% Protestant, 30% Catholic, with the Protestant churches largely lining up with the Nazi regime.

Some Catholics spoke out against Hitler, some paid the price. But in terms of persecution against “Christians”, history must have missed those gas chambers full of them. Statistically, most Christians in Nazi Germany were fully on board or looked the other way. The regime itself would have been statistically impossible without this being true.

I dont think his statement said that. He was just pointing out the abortion policy. If I missed it (maybe it's in a quoted post for someone on ignore) then let me know and I apologize :)

Yeah, I think it was another of Plank's claim being addressed, specifically that he persecuted Christians.

Post 923 claims they “persecuted Christians”. That obviously wasn’t true at all. They may have had a very strict (and bastardized) religious dogma, but they didn’t persecute Christians, they only “persecuted” those who openly spoke out against the regime or attempted to aid the Jews. Unfortunately this was a very small % of the overwhelmingly Christian population. Most Nazi’s would have actually identified themselves as Christian, even those directing the atrocities, and those Christians who weren’t Nazi’s largely looked the other way.

Yeah I'm guessing I have that person on ignore. As a Catholic that's always been one of my "shame" moments that the Church didn't do more regarding the Holocaust. That's why I asked for clarification, though so thanks.

More like Christians persecuting each other. Protestant versus Catholic, vice versa plus the various strains of protestant faiths. You have to go a long way back to find official persecution of Christians, like Roman Empire back.
Part of the maga credo is the play the victim card to the hilt. If you object to them ramming their faith down your throat you are somehow restricting their ability to practice their religion.

Huh? The bible isn't a book but was the first book?

Sure looks like a book to me:

    upload_2022-7-5_12-45-16.png

The Greeks had collated poetry (eg Iliad and Odyssey) on parchment centuries before Christ. The Romans had myths immortalized in wax tablet codices in 200BC.

The Gutenberg bible was published in 1455.
