Smith seems a little bit like D’Angelo Russell. Crafty but no explosiveness whatsoever. I generally don’t like players with that lazy athleticism. That doesn’t mean they aren’t good… it’s just not my preference. Guys like that also rarely give great effort on defense. I’m generalizing here, though. I could be way off on Smith.

Kugel is athletic, and energetic. I think he sometimes lacks awareness of where defenders are, but that will improve with time. Reminds me a little of Gary Payton Jr.

^^^^As did Chandler Parsons really. Chandler took off after Nike camp play between junior and senior year of HS.

For the record, IMO, Kugel is the most talented player signed by the Gators since Beal. I expect him to be a major contributor this coming season. Hopefully, he stays for more than one year. If he progresses as I expect him to, we could be looking at an NBA lottery pick. Attached, if I don’t screw it up, are articles from days one and two of the 2022 Montverde Invitational basketball tournament.

I thought he was staying in prep school and wouldn’t be here until after next year

I tend to agree outside of maybe Tre Mann and I expect him to have a very similar career to Tre. Spot minutes off the bench as a freshman (hopefully for a much more explosive offense) then blow up as a sophomore and get picked in the 1st round

It’s just my opinion, but I don’t see Tre as being as talented as Riley. Riley is way more athletic, is a better passer and is much more explosive at the rim. He also looks to me to be a better defender. We will see.

I dunno about passer but agreed on more athletic, finisher & defense. Tre has an unreal gift for scoring the ball & a feel for the game offensively that you can’t teach someone. I hope Riley is more talented but Tre gets serious props for being a tweener guard with short arms who still went top 20 somehow

Tre's step back jumper is awesome. Riley has tremendous vision.
