Money probably. Get the highest bid from both and put them on notice. If that's the case, it's miami's offer he wanted maximized before he went there. Another possibility: he committed but he wanted a contract and signing bonus to stop further visits. We know our goody two shoes ain't doing that so he keeps visiting.
A lot of you had already laid the ground work for this to happen, but using the term “committed” seems inappropriate for someone who decided after 2 weeks, maybe he wasn’t “committed” so much after all…….. Gator Bait!
I’m not sure why they took his commitment in the first place. It didn’t sound like they were really even after him. They had to know something was up when he literally asked to go on an OV the next week.
A lot of kids are holding out or receiving more money to go elsewhere. UF is not a NIL player currently with the big boys of college ball. Unfortunate it has gotten to this, but other teams paying far more than we do. Not only are we behind on facilities, player dorms and stadium upgrades, but now NIL by $100,000 to $300,000 per player. And when you say UF is catching up on facilities, we are just creating whet other top programs had years ago. TN had nice facilities years ago and is doing another $215 million upgrade now. They also spent $8 million on NIL for a five star QB and more to spend
Miami is so obvious in what they’re doing with Ruiz money — if they don’t attract the attention of the ncaa after the past 2 weeks of buying everybody, we can and should assume that the ncaa effectively does not even exist Keep in mind that verbal commitments don’t mean much in July
True, but at this point Miami is making a total joke out of the guidelines the ncaa established for NIL. I wonder if knowing they’re being made to look like fools might motivate them to do something. It’s not like scUM is a protected blue blood. Then again, nothing was more blatant than Bobby Lowder funneling money to Cam Newton’s dad through a church - everybody knew that as soon as the FBI concluded their investigation of Lowder the hammer was gonna drop on Auburn…….and of course it never did
This is my second most position of importance this cycle along with DL. *Lucas Simmons (OT) - I think this comes down to UF, FSU, and Auburn. All are neck and neck *Monroe Freeling (OT) - no chance here imo. Miami or UGA *Payton Kirkland (OT) - MSU leading but we aren't out of it. *Samson Okunlola (OT) - No clue where he's leaning but we aren't at the top *Tyree Adams (OT) - listed in his top schools. From Louisiana. I think we can snag him. Will we? Gotta get him on campus a few times and go from there. UGA, UF, Ole Miss, and LSU are his top 4 schools. *Caden Jones (OT) - interest was shown early, not sure where we stand with him now. *Kelton Smith (OG) - he's interested but i don't see it happening as of now. I don't see much attention being given to the interior OL outside of having Harris committed. But at OT, I def feel the best about Simmons but that's dwindling. I don't see us being the pick for any of those OT's outside of the guys that're from the state of Louisiana (Adams and Jones).
does Gourage (spelling I know) have a Covid year left If he wants and do you think NIL money could keep him around 1 more year? I guess same for the transfer from Louisiana.
