My point was with the bolded part. You can worry about "loyalty" all you want. The fact that they refuse to testify under oath is all that matters.

CNN has their own non-pay walled version of this story ..

It seems unlikely Cassidy is lying or made it up herself, CNN has multiple sources saying they heard the same thing as Cassidy from multiple agents and the driver -- including the part that Trump tried to lunge over the seat. It's a story that's been spread for over a year among agents and people close to Trump.

Again, it's "hearsay" at this point but either some agent made it up and spread it around, or there is truth to the story. Honestly, it sounds like something Trump would do, I doubt he sat back and took the SS blowing up this plans laying down. He's a fighter. There is a picture of him wearing boxing gloves backstage at the rally for some reason...

Although the scenario of Trump trying to grab the the steering wheel of the SUV has been the focus of Cassidy Hutchinson's testimony on the subject (and it was double hearsay, Hutchinson heard the story from Tony Ornato who supposedly heard the story from an agent who was present), what's really significant and I don't recall anyone trying to rebut it was that Trump ordered his Secret Service security detail to drive him to the Capitol, implicitly to lead his minions in their attempted insurrection.

Accounts of Trump angrily demanding to go to Capitol on January 6 circulated in Secret Service over past year - CNNPolitics

The sources tell CNN that stories circulated about the incident – including details that are similar to how former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson described it to the House select committee investigating January 6 – in the months immediately afterward the US Capitol attack and before she testified this week.

While the details from those who heard the accounts differ, the Secret Service sources say they were told an angry confrontation did occur. And their accounts align with significant parts of Hutchinson’s testimony, which has been attacked as hearsay by Trump and his allies who also have tried to discredit her overall testimony.

Like Hutchinson, one source, a longtime Secret Service employee, told CNN that the agents relaying the story described Trump as “demanding” and that the former President said something similar to: “I’m the f**king President of the United States, you can’t tell me what to do.” The source said he originally heard that kind of language was used shortly after the incident.

Krugman: Cowards, not crazies, are destroying America

When we talk about the GOP’s moral descent, we tend to focus on the obvious extremists, like the conspiracy theorists who claim that climate change is a hoax and Jan. 6 was a false-flag operation. But the crazies wouldn’t be driving the Republican agenda so completely if it weren’t for the cowards, Republicans who clearly know better but reliably swallow their misgivings and go along with the party line. And at this point crazies and cowards essentially make up the party’s entire elected wing. . . . .

The falsehoods that are poisoning America’s politics tend to share similar life histories. They begin in cynicism, spread through disinformation and culminate in capitulation as Republicans who know the truth decide to acquiesce in lies.

Take the claim of a stolen election. Donald Trump never had any evidence on his side, but he didn’t care; he just wanted to hold on to power or, failing that, promulgate a lie that would help him retain his hold on the GOP. Despite the lack of evidence and the failure of every attempt to produce or create a case, however, a steady drumbeat of propaganda has persuaded an overwhelming majority of Republicans that Joe Biden’s victory was illegitimate. . . . .

I’m not sure exactly why cowardice has become the norm among elected Republicans who aren’t dedicated extremists. But if you want to understand how the GOP became such a threat to everything America should stand for, the cowards are at least as important a factor as the crazies.

To give you libs an idea of how the rest of the country is laughing at these hearings. This video is pretty much on point with Liz Chaney who's going to lose her primary.

A youtuber represents "the rest of the country". Brilliant conclusion!

Your panicked attempts to discredit these proceeds are really what's laughable.

Then let's hear them, under oath.

Meanwhile, other sources have corroborated Hutchinson's account of what happened. And so far, only Hutchinson has given testimony under oath.

The panel could have had reasonable opposition republicans on it, but McCarthy wanted co-conspirators like Jordan on it instead.

You have no one but McCarthy to blame for the makeup of the panel which includes 2 republicans btw.

Hand picked by Pelosi, one is supposedly retiring and Chaney is going to get destroyed in her primary. Here's some trivia for you, of all the people on the panel, how many voted to impeach Trump?

    Two things:

    1) he knew they were armed
    2) he wanted to go

this pickle jar distraction about lunging at the wheel is irrelevant.

We get it man. You don't care that Trump tried to lead the overnthrow of our government. You don't need to keep telling us you don't care every day. It says more about you that you feel the need to keep telling us you don't care.

"Why did Nancy Pelosi hand pick the panel? Why is there zero cross examination? Where is the defense of the accused? THIS IS NOT HOW OUR LEGAL SYSTEM WORKS." Is this poster so unaware? It was Pelosi's job to select the Democrats on the panel, two-faced McCarthy's job to select the Pubs. To try to scuttle the committee, he chose several of the Pubs that were known to be likely called before the panel. This would be a conflict, obviously since those picks publicly stated opposition to the panel's formation, another conflict. Pelosi refused them and told McC to choose again. He pouted and refused so she picked more panel members,,, Pubs actually and she could have replaced them with Dems. BTW This is not a court proceeding therefore no cross exam.
