Has there been any previous news about this kid? This tweet makes us seem like a complete afterthought with no chance, but I wasn't even aware we were in it for him at all.
lol he not coming to UF. Man hasn’t even visited yet but i mean unless he’s announcing soon, you never know. Maybe there is a (slight/small) chance
been on campus about 600 times (i think like 15 times actually) and we still, as it seems, gonna whiff on him
Well NO Way we can turn the ship around this late in the cycle. gonna have to just strap it up buckle in and hope things change soon or UF's approach proves a better option than fast money
Sounds like he is just saying, "Feel free to put in a bid, but, it better be a high one 'cuz I've already got three on the table."
yea man and my question i, and a few of us asked last week; ok so we don’t want to spend it on Rashada, then who’re we going to spend it on? what’s going to happen, and im serious when i say this, is that we’re going to try and snag a top 70ish kid late but watch a desperate school, say NC State as an example, will have nothing to lose and overspend and get the kid. We’ll offer $300k a year and they’ll offer $600k a year. Just watch
And yet some people keep wanting to play the “long term plan” or “games haven’t been played yet” excuse…
The real question is how much money is in our NIL coffers? Last i saw, the guard had around 6 mil and the collective only collets around 500k a year… so unless someone has a different number we’ll say 6.5 mil. now how much does it cost to keep Richardson, Dexter, Marshall, and Kimari Wilson? That’s before we pay anyone else on the team… then after that. How much is honestly left to go after 23 recruits? Y’all correct me if I’m wrong. Just spitballing
And don’t forget guys like Castleton and Reeves on the basketball team. They have Collective deals as well I’m sure.
I know you just used those 4 as examples to further your post but I believe they have individual NIL deals already if i'm not mistaken.
Or, is it a good strategy to work on second-string QBs on stocked teams and nudge them into the portal for next year? Those might be bargain players. Florida seems to be making a point of taking care of players already on the team, but, other schools might be spending their whole money clip on the new flashy toys when the answer is already on their roster. Not even sure if that's allowed (if that even matters this year).
Interestingly, here the staff gets to see the current roster practice, play, work, dedicate, and has some reasonable idea of their trajectory and inherent value to the team. On that basis they can structure NIL deals.(see footnote). But with recruits, in the recruiting process, they have to compete with other schools and all but decide their value without knowing how they will act and adjust on campus, once they enroll. It's just really crazy to me that the once strict NCAA control, guidelines, and more or less leveled playing field.
Probably. If it's not within the rules, he won't touch it. But, maybe there is some legal way to get ahead of the transfers. Back up plan? | Page 3 | Swamp Gas Forums
