I think attendance for games will continue to wane and the passion for college football as well. The handful of schools that put the crazy money needed to be successful will still have the fan support, but I think on the whole the popularity of college football is declining. I used to know every player on the Gator roster but now with the portal and transferring I'm sure there will be 40 names on the roster I have no idea about. I will still cheer for them to win and hope for the best but I am no longer living and breathing Gator football like in the past.

I think the best players are waiting to see how much they are offered before committing.

Let’s see if Texas A&M repeats this year as #1 in recruiting.

Saban’s run is way too good to be true. Not cheating What a joke. He would have to be so far superior to any man that ever lived to ellipse any coach ever in a dozen seasons.

If it really was true it would be plastered all over major media, along with a bunch of 'Opinion pieces' denouncing sports general decline while chemistry departments, physics, business and medical schools need their money too...

Bring back the blood sports and sacrifices of ancient Rome. Announcer: "Look at that replay, the tiger really pulled his arm right off!":rolleyes:

Entertaining in the off-season at any rate...

    Go Gators.:)

How long before those grunt players who are getting zilch resent that certain players on the team are becoming instantly rich? They're riding scooters to practice while qb's, rb's, wr's, dl, are riding Bentley's. Pandora's box is wide open and how soon before college ball is treated like NFL minor league where everyone gets paid. Perhaps it's time to call it for what it is or is becoming, NFL minor league. Just dispense with the charade that these are college academic sports.
IMO the door has been opened and will not be closed. Teams who have money will far exceed those who don't. I'd just as soon watch HS football until that too is corrupted.

The teams with billionaire alumni and Collectives funded with billion dollar funds will prevail.

TN already has nice facilities than UF and is presently upgrading their facilities and spending over $200 million dollars while also buying a NIL QB for $8 million dollars. That is what other programs are now up against. Billionaire alumni funding and buying success. They may pass UF in the future due to $$$$

Texas has one donor funding the “pancake squad” and provides every OL on Texas team with $50,000 per year while at UT. That is just one donor’s commitment to one position each year.

I understand your concern, but I'm 71 and college athletics are way down on my list of priorities.

I absolutely agree. And no one could "bend" the rules and get away with it like the Bear did for so many years. IMO, Pell really was a really strong HC for UF in several respects. But he clearly didn't realize just how different the rules were for the bammers as opposed to everyone else in the SEC. He did what he learned how to from the bear and hauled in talent like we would die for now. Unfortunately, not being in the old boys club in B'ham, we damn near got the death penalty and were stripped of our first SEC championship to boot. The moral of the story is that there have always been cliques and cheats and scheisters in CFB, but never was it as blatant and destructive as this latest sorry chapter in the history of a game in decline. It was never perfect but it has never been this gawdawful 'til now. JMHO.
