The Committee can't indict anyone. That's up to the DOJ.

That said, no true American wants LOSER Trump anywhere near the White House. He will destroy our democracy simply because he can't handle LOSING.

It's clear that he cares about no one but HIMSELF. Not his close associates. Not the GQP. And certainly not his cult followers who would not be welcome at Maralago.

Mike Pence was one of his most loyal sycophants. Yet Trump threw him under the bus, because Pence remained faithful to his oath of office and wouldn't break the law for him.

I can’t force the point, but there are those who appreciate the parallels. To be sure, in January 1933, nobody saw Hitler as what we know Hitler is today.

As we all know, Congress had to flee to avoid the violent mob. They had to postpone the legal certification of the election for several hours.

Just keep stomping those little feet. Maybe it will go away. Any indictments of Trump and his henchmen won't be coming for a while. This stuff is going to drag on and on. It's not going away no matter how much you want it too. Looking forward to your many future tantrums.

Any halfway sentient person with an IQ over ninety knows the truth about Trump, and I am quite sure that everybody who posts on this site qualifies for that designation.

The people on this site who try to defend Trump certainly do know the truth about this sick, criminally minded, coup plotting fascist. They purposely and falsely defend him because, just like Duchen wrote, they wish the coup had worked, want the next one to work, and their lies in support of Trump are deflections designed to cause the rest of us to lower our vigilance, thereby making the success of the next one more likely.

As Duchen posited, the Trump defenders, and their defenses of Trump, are key elements of the next coup attempt that is slowly rolling out day by day. Yes, they are a key part of the coup plot, and they won't admit that they are fascists, but because they support their hero, Trump, the fascist, they actually are, whether they admit it or not.

    From another "lib" rag (sarcasm) . . . .

Cassidy Hutchinson’s Testimony against Trump Is Devastating | National Review

Things will not be the same after this.

Cassidy Hutchinson, a top aide to Trump’s White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, provided compelling testimony Tuesday that former president Donald Trump is singularly culpable for the Capitol riot.

The testimony in a session of the House January 6 committee -- a session abruptly called, reportedly due to concerns about Ms. Hutchinson’s safety -- was devastating because it was directly about the former president. The day’s lone witness pulled back the curtain that countless advisers and aides kept around the mercurial Trump for four years.

GQPers are always willing to call what they are accused of fake news--except when put under oath and threat of perjury prosecution.

this isn’t about creating some massive national uprising against trump. The Dems learned their lesson from the republican attacks on Hillary over her server though. Sway even two or 3 percent percent of the population, and Trump, who lost by five points in 2020, now has that much harder a road. And his disapproval rating has gone up 2 or three points in the last month, it’s doing exactly what they want it to do.
    Donald Trump : Favorability Polls

If it leads to indictments that’s just icing in the cake. But thy also isolate all of the republicans in swing districts who disavow it, or minimize it, which will help them in November. The country may not watch, but it puts all the republicans on record for campaign ads in the fall.
And as posted above, it’s starting to create cracks in the republican base - the Washington Examiner, one of the more influential conservative papers, declared Trump unfit for office today. That is a big deal.

So it’s all a dozen small things that lead to larger impacts for him and the party, you can thank republicans for the strategy.

whether it’s enough to overcome Biden’s faults remains to be seen.
