Jan 6 Committee: New Bombshell Testimony and Evidence (6/28, 1pm)

I'm choosing to realize what Jan 6th was. A terrible look for Trump and a thousand or so far right nut jobs. Big whoop. There was zero threat of insurrection even though you and the other libbies are trying to paint that picture. From someone who has never voted for trump and hopes he's indicted so he can't run again, this was purely to take the pressure off the rising prices everywhere in our country. It's not working. The ratings are a nothing burger. Back to the dog and pony show.

 

So much support for a chronic failure. Marriage, citing Scripture, businesses, fashion, decency, insurrections...

I confess, I don't get the attraction.

 

Your posts are so desperate. You can stomp your feet all you want, but this stuff isn't going away. Your Republican party supported and defended the attempt overthrow our democracy and install Trump as the unelected president. If your Republican party had any integrity and honesty, and had stood up to this stuff and done the right thing, yeah, this would be only on Trump. But they were totally onboard with it, supported it and defended. Rotten to the core.

 

For everyone that says we had no risk of an insurrection, I would strongly urge you to read, “Death of Democracy,” by Benjamin Hett. It tells the story of how Adolf Hitler, a guy known as a strong orator with no political acumen, who the power brokers thought was no threat and could be controlled. Shortly after he was appointed President, by Hindenburg, the Reichstag - the German Republic’s “Capitol,” burned to the ground. Hitler, declaring the destruction to be a terrorist act committed by the country’s Communist Party, immediately enacted the emergency powers of the State. He took over the police, and one-by-one all of the country’s governing powers and agencies. He took control over the media. And very soon he was appointed the Fuhrer.

To say it couldn’t happen is naive. It did.

Already pressured Pence and others towards nullifying electors and using new ones. What do you call that, especially in the light of phone calls to Az and Ga? Serious question.

 

Once you resort to comparing trump to hitler, you've not only lost the argument, but now you are sounding crazier than the nut jobs who went into the capital. Congrats!

Trump proven unfit for power again

Former White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson’s Tuesday testimony ought to ring the death knell for former President Donald Trump’s political career. Trump is unfit to be anywhere near power ever again.

Hutchinson’s resume alone should establish her credibility. The 25-year-old had already worked at the highest levels of conservative Republican politics, including in the offices of Sen. Ted Cruz (TX) and House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (LA), before becoming a top aide for former Trump chief of staff Mark Meadows.

In short, Hutchinson was a conservative Trumpist true believer and a tremendously credible one at that. She did not overstate things, did not seem to be seeking attention, and was very precise about how and why she knew what she related and about which testimony was firsthand and which was secondhand but able to be corroborated.

 

Man that's just sad. You are as deluded as the hardcore MAGA Trumpers are. Keep stomping those feet!

The Dems want a wounded Trump who is unelectable. If the insurrection was pivotal point in American History, they would indict Trump, but they don't give a shit about that. There are too many political calculations going on. The biggest fear of the left is Trump gets indicted and found innocent. Then all hell breaks loose.
If what happened leading up to and on Jan 6th are indictable crimes, then best for the country to go for it. I just don't see Garland, Biden, Pelosi, Shumer etc going down the indictment road.

That's a lot of conjecture.

Congress cannot indict. The DOJ is still investigating, having executed search warrants this week on folks higher up the food chain (Eastman, Clark).

If there is evidence that trump and his toadies tried to obstruct the counting of votes and the DOJ thinks they can convince a jury, should they indict?

 

That's funny because between Roe and these hearings, Dem polling is up anywhere from 7-10 points over the last couple weeks.

It looks like trying to kill people to stay in office isn't that popular a tactic.

 

They totally failed to gain entrance to the capitol building, and Congress never had to stop the process of certifying the election. Complete nothing burger.

 

And they failed to apply pressure on state election officials. They didn't try to force the DOJ to falsely issue a statement of widespread fraud. They also didn't try to intimidate Pence to reject electoral votes.

 

Regrettably I am skeptical that the hearings will result in little, or no, Gov't action against the treason perpetrated by the high level lunatics (Trump and his cronies). In almost any other era these clowns would be imprisoned and / or swinging from the gallows.

DOJ are sending a few of the clowns that were stupid enough to get involved in this farce to light prison sentences. I bet not ONE Trump Gov't plotter spends 1 day in jail.

 

So when the committee was first formed ten months ago they knew they would need the distraction from inflation and that a war would break out in Europe? We seriously need that bullshit emoji, because there is some serious bullshit getting trotted out here.
