Only tackles get 20M. Guards pull maybe 15M.

Neither kid is coming to Florida. The kids who leaned towards UF earlier are all headed elsewhere.

Amazing how much better the board is when you block the trolls.

It's true, and, they've been out in force lately.

Honest question. Do you believe that the last few players that committed were second tier or that a class of, now, mostly 4 stars is really second tier?

I think the frustration is that we've missed out on many of the high end targets (Top 100ish recruits) for years now. That's what was/is broken in our recruiting. Florida hasn't had much issue getting high 3*/low 4* recruits.

However, there IS a difference between getting 4* in the .88-.92 range and a 4* in the .95-.98 range(what has been lacking).

If CBN loads every year with predominantly 4* and a few 3* OL (hopefully highly rated 3*) and not have the locker room dissention that may occur with big time NIL schools, we may actually have a better "TEAM" than the big spenders.

Maybe, maybe not. The stats on how many lower ranked players become great in college and go on to be pros and high ranked players have been busts has been discussed here ad finitum. It is the coaches' job to evaluate who is right for their team. The ones who do it well have the tools to win. The ones who do not, don't. Time will tell with this staff.

We don't know that UF's staff isn't playing the game. They may be about projected impact/ROI of the players at the top of their board and choosing to pass when a prospect wants more than their projected value. I'm guessing Rashada's agent's ask was way out of line.

And maybe that strategy's not going to cut it. This year. Let's see what happens in the next cycle when programs playing the big money game have to deal with the blowback; investments that didn't pay immediate dividends, jealousy in the locker room, buyer's remorse from investors, expectations from the top prospects in '24, etc.

That said, it looks like UF is poised to bring in a top 20 class which is pretty good for a team that only won six games last year. Even if UF ends up at #20, those players will play way above their ranking.

It should get better. The Boss is watching and giving vacations to those who make it miserable for everyone else.

Would be ideal. Especially if each player got similar money and incentives. And then manage transfers in and out.

The sticking point is getting difference makers who will want bank.

    A) Who the heck knows "how" anybody "pans out" until the metal hits the meat?

    B) No I do not believe they are 'second tier" in anything other than the minds and imaginations of the millions of locusts that are involved FINANCIALLY in evaluating kids in H.S. and creating the ranking "services" that are somewhere on the 50% side of being WRONG!

    C) No, given a class of 25 like in the old days, say 20 are 4 star and 5 are 3 star, thats a HECK of a class .....................
    EXCEPT.........................................................................

    D) In the SEC. The dilemma facing the Gators and every other SEC team is that in a conference of 14 teams (SIX) - 6 - will be ranked in the top 10 or 12 any given year considering recent history.
Accordingly, that 20, 4 stars and 5, 3 stars, perhaps it winds up a #6 or a #7 class - ??? This is not far away from what UF has been experiencing the last 10 years.

Is that your perception, based on UF following rules/guidelines or your perception of what we have available and are willing to spend?

The end is not near. UF will have a solid class. Have you not seen the trend recently?

Webb, Harris, Mitchell, Rashada, LeBlanc and others have chosen elsewhere. I’m crossing my fingers we can land McLain. He’s not a guarantee.

If our class isn’t top 5 , it’s second tier. If we are around 15, that’s not second tier. I am hoping for my definition of second-tier at this point

20 is not something I’d be happy with. What are our 3 worst rankings in the last 30 years? I know we are down but A&M took a historic class while losing 4 games every year. Win/ loss isn’t that big of a factor with cash involved. Tennessee has been down for two decades and we blew them out last year. Do you think their class is going to be ranked 20th?
