If they really paid 9.5M for him they got robbed. At 6'4" and barely 180lbs he will do better in the ACC. As I said a month ago, better eat some sammiches if you wanna play big boy ball.
The deal if accurate as reported, would seem to indicate a bit of urgency/desperation on the part of Miami officials and/or responsible for putting NIL deals together for Miami. Rashada isnt a 9.5 million dollar talent.
I'm not going to believe any NIL figures. Schools want to keep payments quiet, ultimately low, publicly. Although some will want recruits to know big numbers that pay. Recruits and agents want amounts high. Until they get maximum paymemts and then want to downplay to teammates yet also brag to the world. Collectives will want to inflate their abilities and yet make shrewd deals. Writers will be spinning, and NIL value estimates will be total fiction.
For those that enjoy Gators Breakdown I recommend watching last night's episode with Dave, Will and another guest. I really enjoy Davids podcast and subscribed. They 'break-it-down" pretty well IMO. A very quick (bottom line) synopsis of the 1-1/2 hour convo: They define pretty much everything being posted about on the board about current events. In their opinion UF / CBN are at a "critical" juncture. The anticipated "bump class" we were all hoping for is probably out of reach. A top 10 class may still be possible, but in the 8-9-10 range, (MAYBE) - top 5? - forget about it. Will thinks it will be outside the top 10. (I really respect Will Miles comments). McClain is an absolute MUST! July will probably tell the tale. To date, they pretty much seem to agree with Wunderlicks article. The "re-build", in terms of recruiting success, is NOT on schedule.
Seems like what we are seeing. Top players want to play with the best. Perception isn’t being our friend.
Personally, I don’t agree with all this. BN hasn’t even coached a game yet, new facilities aren’t complete, etc. BN said it will take some patience- I would be thrilled with a top 10 at this juncture- but I believe it is going to take some time with all the major changes involved. I know the staff is busting their asses and it seems like some of the expectations are too high at this juncture. I feel confident we are in good hands and we will get to where we hope to be. A few big wins this year (Utah, LSU, Tennessee) would be huge too and really propel us forward, but that may take some time too.
Hi Zep - Well, all the banter dosen't really mean anything until they put the helmets on. But one fact is undeniable - Alabama Ohio State Clemson UGA now They recruit well, and it shows, by winning conference championships, making the playoffs and winning the crystal ball. I am excited about the Utah game, it will be a significant reference point as to where UF, the staff, and the program really is.
Don’t deny that those teams recruit well and win - no doubt about it. I just don’t expect us to join them in less than a year. I hope it is sooner than later though!
Some of those oil wells are going to dry up pretty fast. Recession is just starting. I like the way UF coaches are doing it. They don't want to overpay for one guy. I want to see them spread the wealth to 4 DLs, 3 LBs, 4 DBs, 5 OLs, 1 RB, 1 QB. 1 TE, 3 WRs. Canes are not going to sustain shelling out buckoo $$$ every year. Same with Voltards.
I don't see enough remaining prospects with any interest in UF to put this class anywhere in the top 10. Going to whiff at QB. Might whiff or go way down the board at RB. Could end up without any four star LBs. I'll be happy with a class like the one we just signed.
Speaking of linebackers…. why not the Harris twins or Lewis Carter?? Florida kids with lots of ability. Heck one of those three is ranked in the top 100. But we are gonna let them go to UCF and OU.
