Maybe, maybe not. Between guns, fetuses and Jan 6th, there's been some shift toward the dems in the generic ballot.

We’ll see. Never underestimate the Dems ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

The Generic ballot polls isn’t very helpful when predicting Congress. Gerrymandering means democrats can get like 60% of the vote 30% of the seats…

That is true, but there's been a 10 point swing in the last month. That means folks may be re-considering who they want to have control of congress.

Could be. The fundraising for his defense fund has gone poorly. He had raised 14K of $100,000 as of this weekend. Prospects of prison might be motivational.

Yes inflation is far more important than an attempt to overthrow the government.

Perhaps they are going to announce an investigation on the various attempted breaches (along with widespread damage) of Federal and other government buildings that have occurred around the country since the Roe vs Wade reversal. Wouldn’t that be a bombshell.

I mean, whether it be the US Congress, Supreme Court or any other government building, we all agree this crap has to stop, don’t we?

I just hope it conclusively reflects the elusive “state of mind” requirement, especially difficult with Trump’s mind.

Sure we do, but you’re deflecting from the FAR more serious issue of the storming of our sacred Capitol by a mob of crazed Trumpers egged on and encouraged by their Dear Leader. Why don’t you stay on topic and state your opinion about that?

This committee is investigating much more than just the storming of the Capitol. A good running article is linked below since you seem to be a bit behind. Emphasis is mine.

"The Jan. 6 select committee has now held five of its public hearings in which the committee seeks to lay out its findings about the insurrection and the president who fomented it. The presentations in the hearings have been powerful, the recorded interviews compelling, and the rhetoric damning and often electrifying. The theater reviews are in, and the show is getting raves.

But what’s left after stripping away the set dressing and focusing only on the evidence presented? Specifically, how much progress has the committee made in proving its case?

In the opening hearing on June 9, Chairman Bennie Thompson described the committee’s ambitions as follows: to provide “a true accounting of what happened [on Jan. 6] and what led to the attack on our Constitution and our democracy.” Vice Chair Liz Cheney said the committee would present a “seven-part plan overseen by President Donald Trump to overturn the 2020 election.” Committee members spelled out aspects of this plan in their presentation, and a committee source later clarified the seven components of the plan. "

Former Meadows aide to testify in surprise Jan. 6 committee hearing

The Jan. 6 select committee is set to hear from a onetime top aide to former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows on Tuesday, an abruptly scheduled hearing whose announcement riveted Washington.

Cassidy Hutchinson will testify publicly, according to two people familiar with the committee’s plans, after providing crucial testimony to the panel about significant exchanges among top Donald Trump’s inner circle in the weeks before the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. Hutchinson replaced her attorney earlier this month as the select committee’s hearings began; her former attorney was the Trump White House’s chief ethics lawyer, and her new attorney is a longtime ally of former Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Earlier Monday the select panel announced a surprise hearing, with about 24 hours’ notice, “to present recently obtained evidence and receive witness testimony.” That statement included no details on the testimony or witnesses — and the sudden schedule change intensified intrigue in Washington, where the panel has mounted a carefully choreographed set of hearings about the former president’s election subversion.

It’s unclear why the panel expedited Hutchinson’s hearing, or whether she will appear alongside other significant witnesses. Hutchinson was present during meetings between Meadows and multiple House Republicans who aided Trump’s effort to overturn the 2020 election. Snippets of her video deposition supported the committee’s contention that several of those Republicans later sought presidential pardons.
