It's being decided by this coming week. And I mentioned that the agencies should NOT be allowed to write laws that effect our entire nation. That is the Legislative Branch of Government's purview - The United States Congress.

So, I do hope the EPA gets slapped down... back to it's original job of oversight, and not law making.

First it’s spelled write not “right.” Also pollution affects the entire planet so don’t give me that nonsense that the Environmental Protection Agency doesn’t have the right to protect the environment. The name is their job description.

It's been not only politicized by the left, it's literally an activist wing of the Environment Nazis now.

There are a lot of next targets. Our administrative agencies are on the chopping block, which will devastate our ability to govern. They're also going after voting rights again next year. And so many other fun things the Republican extremists are going to destroy simply because they have the power.

The cuyahoga river catching fire in 1969 wasn’t political, it was pollution. Acid raid wasn’t political, it was pollution. Lake Erie being declared a dead lake wasn’t political, it was pollution. Birds dropping dead from the sky wasn’t political, it was pollution. The coral reefs off Florida isn’t political, it’s pollution. I could go on and on, and that’s the reason a Republican President created the EPA.

First, the EPA does not write "laws."

They write "regulations" and not only are they 100% empowered to do so by the laws that Congress has passed, they are mandated to do so by those same laws.

The Clean Air Act - first passed by Nixon, and amended by Bush senior.

    The Clean Water Act

    Endangered Species Act

    etc. etc. etc.

All passed by congress and giving the EPA the authority and the mandate to regulate pollution.

Furthermore, every piece of regulation created by the EPA is based on a public proposal with a comment period followed by a final rule that can and generally is litigated by either environmental groups and/or industry. Only if it can withstand the legal oppositions can it stand.

Please... Stop the deforestation of the world's rain forests if you want to be taken seriously about AGW. No one on the Left really cares enough about the global environment or they would stop China from polluting the Earth's atmosphere...

The CRIB nations (China, Russia, India and Brazil) are right now polluting at will so NOTHING the United States does by itself will change a thing on the global scale... We cannot change the environment like you think we can.

One more thing. We've discussed this AGW/Global Warming subject 12 years ago and spent over 6 months arguing about CO2 emissions and found out that ice core samples from the antarctic found NO noticeable correlation between higher levels of CO2 and higher temperatures...

If you we here back then you would know this whole CO2 higher temperature BS is been debunked years ago...

But you Leftist continue to attempt to brainwash us with the fake news... fake climate prediction models made up by paid for scientists...

It's time to stop with the lies... The main thing we need to work on is deforestation and plastic pollution proliferation.

And as I said when it come to energy I am for all of the above. We need more nuclear power plants in the U.S.A.

The EPA has done a lot of good… but like most govt agencies it has outgrown its original purpose. It needs to be trimmed back and reorganized and it’s purpose redefined. That’s all. It does not need to be axed.

That's great... but it's never enough is it? What you and the other Leftists want is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN... We will never rid ourselves completely of fossil fuels until they are all gone from the face of the Earth...

    Deal with it...

In the meantime we should be building very reliable and dependable nuclear power plants all over our country.

The goal of Koch family and anti-environmental conservatives is to make the US more like China. Some photos of Beijing.

I never have understood maga’s disdain for the environment. Don’t they drink water, breath air, visit nat’l parks? Do they just recite what their leaders tell them to think? Is it to own the libs?

I don’t understand why there cannot be a happy medium. The EPA needs to be trimmed back. At the same time ignoring the help they have given to preserving the environment is asinine.

“fake climate prediction models madeup by paid for scientists...”

You do realize it was 97%, and with even more recent evidence, now approx 99% of scientists agree climate change is man-made. Think about that, 99%. It’s now a given. Just like it’s a given we landed on the moon. Even though approx 10% of our country believe in the conspiracy theory the moon landing was faked.

More than 99.9% of studies agree: Humans caused climate change | Cornell Chronicle

Conspiracy theories in U.S.- belief that the moon landing was faked 2019 | Statista

Rick, I assume that you're sad and are shedding tears because you really missed seeing this when it happened.

I agree, let's stop with the lies. Like the one from this post, where you made claims that are false (that CO2 is not correlated with higher temperatures). It absolutely is. Here is an accurate summary of the findings of the research that you incorrectly summarize.

    5. Why does CO2 lag temperature? – Climate Change Action Team

This was all explained to you at the time.

Take a drive through “gods country” and take a look at the sides of the road. You’ll get your answer.
