So you think a QB that gets millions be before he arrives…then doesn’t pan out and goes into the portal will demand a new deal in addition?

Where did you misunderstand that? The ones that don’t pan out are kicked right through the portal like tge four this week,

Miller pro did get a new deal as I’m sure he had options. He didn’t not pan out, he simply never got a chance to play. If AR was injured and he looked great,he would have plenty of nil money offered if he tested the portal. Keeping your good players is going to be as much work as recruiting more than likely.

It’s a dumb question? Why would a failed player expect a deal ?

Football is religion in Alabama. They will find the money.

The money made from college football is so large that the system will have to right itself. I assume there is an army of accountants and lawyers working on issues with cooperation from multiple conferences and schools. There's just too much at stake to not get control.

But the qb that comes in for a couple mil and wins the heisman is going to be able to get a huge raise . It’ll either be offered by the existing team or the portal is waiting with plenty of offers. With instant transfers, only a few teams will be able to pay up. Nil not being legal as a contract with a school is a big problem. But schools don’t want to be tied to the money. They want others to pay. Can’t have your cake and eat it too

Cormani McClain spent the weekend at Miami. The article I read was that Miami has closed the gap a little on two SEC teams. With Alabama as the most competition amongst the two.

Let me give you a for instance of how this could get even more out of control. With this NIL we are talking about money that is not even in the game itself (gate revenue or tv money). It is just fans throwing out money to get players that will go to a particular university because of what that university or team means to them. Wait until the university supporters/donors that don't even like sports start filing derivative lawsuits on behalf of the universities and university booster organizations against collectives and players to disgorge moneys that are "earned" by players solely for being a prospective or current player for the specific university for which they are getting moneys without being an employee of that university, i.e. they are earning money solely on the name of the university (or some other theory they will advance). I could see it getting ugly with how this insane money is being thrown out to teenagers and their guardians.

Tony Mitchell just committed to Bama. Not sure what that means for McClain but something to watch for.
