I’m no lawyer, would having abortion codified mattered in this this SCOTUS decision?

Or how about a constitutional amendment. That would be a permanent fix.

No, but you were well taken care for a career funded by the taxpayers of the county you worked for, no?

Might not be welfare, but public jobs (including mine) help people live good lives and avoid needing welfare.

And again, they lied about their intention to review abortion cases with an open mind. They had already decided to overrule Roe and perjured themselves when they said they hadn’t.

Are you equating medicare to welfare? I worked for over 50 years, paid into social security & medicare. I hate to inform you but I don't know a single retired person over medicare age who doesn't take it. You pay for it your entire life. Oh I had times in my life I could have collected other government money but chose not to even though I paid into the program. Never once collected unemployment but I sure paid into the program. I paid for my own education so don't have any government loans to be excused.

Medicare is welfare. It's a social safety net program for the elderly. You paid into it but that pay and benefits you received was also funded by taxpayers.

Medicare runs at a loss. My Medicare payments are going to cover your Medicare. This is my welfare to you. You're welcome

I could have made more money in the private sector. As a matter of fact 30 years ago I took my job at Orange county as a temporary job. I never intended to stay there I just took it because it was a job and I needed one at the time to stay off welfare. I actually enjoyed what I was doing for the County and decided to stay. I weighed the options, more money, more stress & less benefits vs less hours, less stress & less pay. I stayed with the job I enjoyed and never regretted it.

Well maybe she should step down as a Senator if she is so easily snookered.

I passed a planned parenthood this week ans a lady was holding a sign that said "Babies are murdered here." Neither side has a monopoly on divisive hate

I'm not knocking you for taking a public job (notice, I mentioned I work at a public job--have for the past 2+ decades). Just suggesting that your effort to prop yourself up at the expense of those who receive welfare isn't a winning strategy. We get it. People on welfare *receive* more than they will ever give. But that you haven't received some forms of welfare doesn't make you any better than those that have.

Me neither. But the truth is, there are programs that we can all benefit from and use--including when we retire for which you will probably use more than you put in if you live long enough.

We can thank Biden for the shame of having Uncle Thomas on SCOTUS:

“Three months later, Anita Hill told her story to Congress about her boss, Thomas, tormenting her with unwanted attention and dirty talk about the pornographic films he liked to watch. Joe Biden was the chairman of those Senate hearings.

“He let Hill be viciously ripped apart by Republicans and then abruptly ended the hearings, canceling the appearance of her two corroborating witnesses. Many senators on the committee — composed entirely of white men — privately thought it was an office romance gone wrong. Poor guy, they said among themselves, no point in letting his life be ruined by someone they thought, with absolutely no evidence, was a vengeful ex. Hill was smeared as a perjuring erotomaniac, and Biden, wasting a Democratic Senate majority, allowed a liar, a pervert and a sexual harasser to be elevated to a lifetime seat on the court.

Women’s rights had to take a back seat to Biden’s desire to foster bipartisanship with his conservative colleagues. And with Thomas, those conservatives got the justice of their dreams, the first in a line of right-wing radicals.”

Everyone has their opinions. The day we stop pretending EVERYTHING is "right" and simply a political choice is going to be far better for everyone.
There is no impartiality or objectivity - everyone is driven by their own self interest.

Zero difference. It was a political decision made for political reasons. They would simply invalidate any federal law contrary to their preferred outcome.

Judging by the 2nd amendment, methinks not, unless "Baby killing is legal" is the entirety of it.

And you still have to pay for it, just like any other insurance. It isn't free.
