You have spent many a comment saying the US isn't racist but now you're admitting not only that you discriminate but do so based on race? Seems confused.

As a resident GC libertarian I have a few questions. I do not think abortion should be illegal but that too general. Late term abortion is particularly ghoulish and hard to imagine more than a super fringe in favor. Had 50 years. Why not use any of that time for both senate and house to make into law specially terms of legalization? 12 weeks, no late term etc ? Seems a lot of this could have been avoided

Just imagine in just one week the conservative SCOTUS determined that life begins at conception and ends in a mass murder.

So vote Trump back as potus because of 6 HOR members? But ok with MAGA HOR members like Gaetz, MTG, Gosar (blamed Jan 6 on fbi), Jordan (with a few others pursued a pardon for his support of the coup)

Trump is generally regarded as one of the worst potus we’ve had (bottom 3-5). And he is actively destroying confidence in our electoral process for the sake of his ego. Just imagine trump with another 4 years and unfettered.

It sounds like it’s, find “a reason” to vote for trump

Probably because no Senator or House member could find a way to make money from it.

Biden has always come from the more moderate wing and actively opposed Bernie in a primary. Meanwhile, how many House committees are currently chaired by squad members, since they are so influential?

What could a Republican support to be considered extreme by you?

The court has been Conservative leaning for at least 40 years now. If you think the Rehnquist court was liberal, perhaps you are the extremist here...

Good point ... and he's not just saying he discriminated based on race, he's saying he thinks everyone does it ... it does seem to be at odds with his "America isn't racist" stance...

We haven't had a liberal Supreme Court since the 70s.

Good catch, I meant to make that point as part of my comment.

Big part of why I thought his comment is confused.

I mean, the flip side of it is the left insisting that “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed” does not so much as imply that you can take a gun outside your house, but “nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law” unequivocally recognizes a constitutional right to have an abortion.

The idea that the only explanation for these two rulings is an entirely unprincipled court completely ignoring the constitutional text is kind of laughable.

Judging by this thread, the Supreme Court seems to be pissing off all of the right people to indicate they are doing the right thing. It's good to see that they did the right thing despite the leak, the public and media pressure, and death threats.

The state of political discourse on the right. Many are happy not because they actually want to lock up women for abortions but rather because doing so might own some libs.

You would think that these GOP judges would have a little more integrity than their GOP political associates but they’re all in the same boat. This is where we in American society.

I should have included Bernie and a few others I guess, otherwise I am left to believe that the entire party is composed of extreme liberals, and the moderates follow like sheep. While we have a few too far to the right in the Republican party, they really don't control it yet, not even with Trump trying to. While I want someone with a MAGA agenda to run in 2024, I really don't want it to be him again. As stated before, if another extreme liberal heads the Democratic ticket, I will even vote for Trump if he runs again.

You left out the part where it was opposite public opinion. By accident? Fixed for you.

Based on today reactions this seems overwhelming unpopular. What is preventing the HoR/ Senate and each states legislature from
Intro bills immediately putting abortion rights into law once and for all? Seems like a straightforward resolution.

Why do you think late term abortion exists? It’s not for convenience. Usually because the fetus is not viable. With these rulings women may have to carry a stillborn and risk sepsis. This is just one of the reasons that the government has no place here.
