    79 K's in 21, 69 K's in 22.....seems like the problem carried over a bit

Yeah it seemed to me he did better at keeping the stikeouts lower until early May with the USF game and then the last few weeks of the regular season the big swings to left were back and the strikeouts went up. Was that another coaching thing or was Jud trying to keep up with Langford? The world may never know.

Yeah, they really seemed to escalate down the stretch, your guessis as good as mine. That and his inability to steal bases at any point in his career will always mystify me

What troubles me is a year ago we lost 5-6 pitchers who transferred out and several of them indicated they were not happy with the way they were handled and didn't like the negativity on the pitching staff. Now Pogue is gone makes me wonder he might have left last year as well if he wasn't going thru TJ recovery. How many more pitchers will we lose if this is still a problem?

We will see. Sully taking the pitchers back during the stretch run was a good sign to me. I know that the last game will always be up for debate and that’s fine. I just haven’t seen “the hired pitching coach” show much of anything (in development or with mound trips to settle our guys down or at least slow the game down for them).

Every single one of them have to be monitored, coached, and even challenged every day in their work. But that’s just me.

Yet that's what all the experts kept saying all year......however 'impressed' they were of Jud cuttting down in his strikeouts. .238 batting average later.....

I just don’t think he sees the ball that well, and not sure how you fix that. The number of dead red fastballs he flat out missed was shocking.

Some guys just swing and miss a lot -- it's always going to be an inherent part of their game. Fabian struck out a bunch, but he was also second on the team in OPS and third in OBP while playing great defense. When you strike out as often at the college level as Fabian did I think it's pretty likely you're going to have serious issues making acceptable contact in the pros, but he does everything else really well. So maybe he can figure that out.

Maybe, but I think more than anything it was his approach at the plate or lack there of. Not ever trying to go oppo is a problem.

What would worry me the most if I'm a scout is his misses on most all fastballs above 93-94......right down the middle.

He checks all of these boxes for sure. I would almost agree with @GatorChoice about his eyes just not seeing it but he tracks the ball so damn well in the outfield it kinda shoots that down.

But he goes on to include missing dead red FB’s as @jdgator says and at any level—as @shane4three pointed out you’ve got to hit it where it’s pitched.

    Plenty to work on.

One more transfer for the tracker. Goodbye to De Goti makes our interior infielders very thin. Either Halter will have to move back to 2nd or the JuCo kid will have to be ready.

Pitchers exiting and Sully changing the 'who goes to the mound for a chat' from him to Kopp (who pitched for Sully at Clemson) mid season makes me wonder if Kopp isn't either gone or on a leash that could end in Fall Ball

Found that interesting as well. Not sure if the pitchers started to be more consistent when Sully took over or if Sully took over when the pitchers started to be more consistent.

Shelnut plays next year a ton!!
May hit some homers ( we already seem to have that). I believe he’s a local kid so gotta root for him. Hit 19 this year so he is legit.

This might be of concern from the Santa Fe info....
