Yep and then Golden entered the pic. Pogue leaving for the draft was hard to believe so he must have known he was transferring. I still don’t understand this as Sully gave Pogue many many chances. If he transfers to a Stetson, UNF, or Ju to be their #1 or 2 I get it. At Florida he’s a 4 or 5 next year and maybe was told this.

Off Topic- but did any one notice how Sooners kicked Aggies butt today in Omaha? That my friends should be us. We had the Sooners on the ropes and let victory slip away. Yes- it still hurts not to be there- where we belong. Anything less is reason to question why? Four years is too long not to be in Omaha.

On the transfer portal guys- it may be a question of coaching approach, from the rumors. Some feel that they were not well coached or not enough attention was focused when mechanics were off-- and there may have been a laissez-faire attitude among some coaches that should be working with pitching mechanics. Others feel that they were passed over.

How many pitchers did we have transfer out again last year???
Maybe its a better sign we didn't sign as many HS kids this year.

Your team made it to the supers this year. Remember? Your “awesome season” that ended in Knoxville?

Even before the portal even existed, every DI baseball school has had multiple kids transfer out on a yearly basis and in most cases, the players are not the ones necessarily making the decisions. And if you think the majority of the current UF kids who have either already announced plans to transfer or will in the future aren’t being nudged out the door by this staff, you are mistaken.

When all is said and done, you can be fairly well assured that via the portal, Sully will bring in better talent than he is losing.

Yep, I think that’s definitely disappointing. Huge Gator baseball fan but disappointed to be 6th in SEC and. Or making it out of regionals that we hosted.

I'll take an extra order of Riopelle, one large India, 2 Faedos, a Byrne special, and a BOGO Trenton Thunder. I'll wait for my order.

A good indication will be where the players end up. If Mac ends up at Stetson and Pogue ends up at south Florida then that’s one thing but if Pogue ends up at a school the caliber of Ole Miss and Mac goes somewhere like Alabama or Arkansas then that is a whole different ball game imo. That makes me think they have issues with the way they were coached or the coaching staff in general.

Both were good enough to play in the SEC this year, which means they're good enough to play anywhere. Both will be bigger, older, more experienced and another year beyond the injuries that kept them out much or all of last year. Having a good 2023 season does not necessarily mean anything about UF coaching. The kid at SS for noles played fairly well, but so what? I cheered for Mac and Pogue, but neither was better than average.

LOL! I actually remember the years before Sully. I was at the Tally regional in 1988 when we made it to CWS for the first time. It was a true pleasure and I'm grateful we now go more often than any other program. Hope we go again next year, we're as likely to make it as any of the teams there this year.

Jud Fabian takes another swing at the MLB Draft with an improved approach
And if you were unaware why Jud struck out so many times in 2021, here's part of the problem admitted by Jud.
"Fabian had spent 2021 trying to pull baseballs over the left-field fence. The directive from his coaches had led him to incorporate a leg kick, something he thought could help him put more weight in his back leg and generate more pop."
