Then the people who claim "woke this" and "libby that" and "socialist/marxist" this and that need to come to terms. I have no faith in that. On the other side the people who claim "MAGA this" and "Qanon that" etc. have to come to some grips too. TBH I had to think more about the lefty vapid points, but that may admittedly be due to personal bias.
I'm with you 100% on Americans coming together, but we live in an age where that seems unlikely. Maybe in another 100 years or so.

Absolutely correct people need to come together as one on the things they agree on. When select groups are too far right or too far left we have what we have now. In my opinion people are waking up.

Or... it's a word that means reliving the past in which you, me nor anyone alive were ever a part of... and getting mad about it. Then blaming white Pubs for all they is wrong in the entire Universe/ multi-verse/infinity-verse.

The point of the contrasts is that your point is that liberal orgs are suffering from infighting. People are pointing out MAGA world infighting to show it is a phenomenon on both sides.

MAGA is not infighting... unless you think the soon to be extinct RINOs are "in" the MAGA Party.

"Woke culture" isn't going anywhere. "Woke" is a buzzword for old people and right-wingers to whine about progress and inclusivity.

I have been saying this for a while. On the right I haven’t seen much progress - most seem to be dug in with these conspiracy theories and culture wars.

On the left while the extreme elements are large I don’t think they are the majority. Biden won the D nomination over a whole gaggle of more PC candidates. Solidly Democratic NY elected a mayor who ran against some of the more extreme elements of left wing culture warriors. There is an active and healthy debate among those on the left, including in this forum, about how far some of this stuff should go. Elections like the VA governors race and the popularity of turds like Desantis is demonstrating that you can take this stuff too far.

The problem for D’s is they don’t seem to have a deep bench of moderate candidates.

I hope the GOP goes through their own reckoning. I’m not seeing it yet.

And you ignore the reason for the infighting that's my point. You can't solve the infighting without addressing the issues. That's why the title of the thread.

And the D's take it too far backed by an administration that pushes buttons and envelopes. It's a vicious cycle. The D's have their own conspiracy theories as well so let's not forget that either.

    Agreed on the deep bench.

I don't think it was cherry-picked, but the primary focus of the article is that many progressive organizations have missed a window of opportunity to move their specific mission forward because of some of these issues have paralyzed their ability to perform. Of course you are right that these same or similar issues could paralyze any organization if left to fester. The common thread I see in the article is a lack of effective leadership.

This will forever be an issue for Democrats because it is a broad coalition of people with varying ideas who do not fall in line when ordered to like the MAGA sheep.

A reasonable take. Not all liberal organizations are well run just like non-liberal organizations. The article and the OP tried to make a left specific issue out of it that neither supported. OP refuses to defend it.

Every Friday night America can look to a hero onscreen to fight woke culture, a true embodiment of the sentiment, literally wearing the US Flag

I read the whole article (it was long!) and didn't come away with the impression that the article "tried" to make it a left issue other than that the focus was on issues that have been strongly embraced by many on the left impacting left/progressive organizations ability to function effectively. That they left out the (obvious) part that unchecked discord could interfere with any organizations effectiveness doesn't really seem germane to the piece. Perhaps what makes the story compelling is the irony of what many perceive as left issues paralyzing left institutions.

Nah, those things are great. Woke culture is things like changing well known brand names or team cheers because a tiny segment of the population might think they're racist despite demonstrably not being racist. Or putting same sex kissing and relationships into every movie, show and commercial despite that dynamic representing single digit percentages in the real world. Or HR telling people to use he/she/him whatever on emails and being required to pretend a man is a woman because they also pretend that. Or trying to silence comedians because you disagree with their material. Or doing drag shows at what is supposed to be library story hour.

I could keep going for days, but you know what woke culture is, despite you wanting to pretend that everyone who disagrees with it is racist. Which, ironically, is another display of woke culture - if you have no argument, facts or anything of substance to add just call the other side racists. After all, they can't "prove" they aren't, so you win.
