Fact is the thread is about President Biden not former President Trump. Why people refuse to address and deflect the issue is part and partial to the division in political discourse as if one President is better than the other so be quiet and keep your mouth shut. In my opinion President Biden's family is more troubled than any other President in my life time. Many Presidents have skeletons in their closets and family members of questionable character. Where issues arise is when Presidents interfere with or become complicit in their family members actions. Much can be said about Ashley's diary and the actions by an administration to keep it from public view. Much can be said about Hunter's laptop and the actions taken by this administration to keep that from public view. The peanut galleries twist and spin while one side points out the emperor has no clothes the other says it's beautiful tailor made pink suit.
You are literally reading a troubled woman's diary and acting like it should be public domain, and you are trying to claim the high ground here? Yes, there are problems in President Biden's family. He lost multiple children and a wife very prematurely. That can stress just about any family to the point of breaking, especially the young kids who lost their mother and a sibling at a young age. Let me know when you start asking for Ivanka's diary or to poke around on Don Jr's laptop. I suspect that you suddenly would declare children off-limits if somebody were to steal their personal property as some sort of political act. But for the Biden's, you view it as helpful, so you are game for it.
Fact is it is in the public domain because she abandoned it. There is no claiming any high ground here. I am sure you are aware of the court case that is currently going on with James O'Keefe and the antics of federal agents to get the diary and the false claims that he stole it. Fact is both Hunter and Ashley are troubled kids of the Biden family. On that front you and I can certainly agree. Where we disagree is playing the sympathy card and having daddy intervene to save the day. Especially when daddy is the President of the United States and has any number of resources to squash everyday people. If Ivanka were to abandon her diary assuming she has one well so sorry Ivanka. If Donald Junior were to abandon his laptop which no doubt he has one so sorry Donald Junior.
The investigation of this started under Trump and is still on-going as it relates to how the diary was purchased. Somehow, I don't feel a ton of sympathy for the person who sold that diary either. Pretty immoral act, IMO (heck, you could argue that reading it isn't exactly a moral act as it wasn't for public consumption). Let me know if you find any actual misconduct in the investigation. Until then, we will see if the investigation ends up charging any crimes related to this.
I agree it's not a moral act and some would have simply trashed it if public figures were not involved. In today's world everyone has a price and finding anyone of moral character is looking for a needle in a haystack. Even lawyers have a price. What's more than ironic here is the Daily Mail published it. Why do you think that is? My guess is if any US publisher made this common knowledge they already how the game is played with this administration. The laptop now the diary too hot to handle let a foreign news outlet publish it.
I really have no clue what your point is here. Families are complex. Sometimes otherwise decent people have troubled kids. We have this notion that whatever adult children do is largely a function of prior parenting, and that really isn’t true, at all.

This story was published by Daily Mail, likely because Daily Mail has historically lower standards of verification than most publications (I think Wikipedia won't even allow them as a source now). NYT broke the story of the investigation months ago.
Ehhh. We have proof of Trump’s infidelity. He had her sign a frickin NDA and paid her for it. There is zero proof Biden is a “serial adulterer.” Just a laughable false equivalence. It’s not like we have quotes from Biden praising Epstein and his taste in young women.
Since the OP turned this into a Trump v Biden thread, here's the difference. Very few people put Biden on a pedestal. In fact, most people, including those on this board who voted for him, will tell you he's done an average to poor job. Most Trump supporters, including those on this board, can admit no wrong in Trump. No matter how incredibley strong the evidence is. There are Trump Sycophants with flags, and stickers, and car decals, and shirts. You don't see that nonsense anywhere else.
Don't get me wrong I agree on the family front but I'm more inclined as time goes by and aspects of his kids lives are revealed I can't help but think President Biden had a lot to do with the issues they face.

If I recall when the story about the diary came out there very llittle in revelations as to it's content. The story focused mainly on the status and what was happening on that front.
Jill was married when Joe started an affair with her. Joe was married when he forced himself on Tara Reade. That's 2 without even trying. Also plenty of comments around about Joe telling little girls they are pretty or smelling their hair or groping them. I'll give you that Trump is a creep but Biden is just as creepy or more.

The first point of view is Presicent Biden could be compromised with regards to foreign relations and as the story unfolds there's certainly sufficient evidence to warrant that assumption.
