Assists, ball movement, shooting percentage, and making free throws were an area for improvement last year. Also guarding the opponents 3 point line on D. It will be interesting to see if team construction and athletes are better positioned to play in Golden’s system. Watching D in NBA finals shows us the intensity needed to win championships
You’re right but seeing it listed out like that is sad haha. So to recap, last year we needed to get better at …..basketball…. it’s like I didn’t realize quite how bad things were at the time.
So many nice pieces. It’s going to be interesting to see how Golden puts it all together. I’m optimistic, but hesitant at the same time, because I feel like I’ve seen quite a few all-star rosters assembled here, lately, that were good but still not as good as we had hoped.
I'm excited by the potential of this group. But like you said, we've had lots of exciting potential in recent years. That aside, Kyle has the skills to excel at the point in the SEC, and I'm most excited by his APG stats. 10th in the nation last season, that's elite level. Gotta get good point guard play to reach your ceiling.
My resistance is crumbling. My enthusiasm is building. By fall I will be a believer. I particularly like the reach back to the Billy Donavan era. Taurean on campus and I expect many others to feel welcome. Golden doesn’t seem threatened by our past success, he seems to embrace it. I remember that Billy told our last coach that he would help in any way he could. Would love to see a reunion party this year.
Last year was tough. UF was just so limited offensively. But they played HARD and put together 20 wins. I sure hope this new group has a bit more fluidity on offense than last years team and I suspect it will.
Agree, hopefully this group is one of the best 4 teams in the Conference. That would be a nice jump forward.
