Kind a tribute to the way Tatum's game has grown. The old Jayson Tatum would have shot his team out of the game with all kinds of forced attempts trying to find his shot. The new Jayson Tatum dished out 13 assists instead.
What an NBA Finals debut for Al Horford! Happy Birthday Al! Here's how Al Horford made history in long-awaited Finals debut
Wiggins on Tatum leaves Brown with opportunity. Boston saw this and capitalized. Your move, Steve. These teams are so even and a great matchup I see coaching moves playing a big part.
Curry 34, Green and Thompson both 32. Age and experience in Finals versus youth here. Tatum, Brown, White and Smart, 24, 25, 27 and 28 respectively. Big Al at 36, but otherwise young team. Like the old Pistons teams that eventually had challenges with Bulls youth. Warriors have shorter window to succeed. Will they prevail?
I think the warriors have more than filled their window. 3 titles and 6 finals appearances in 8 years.
The NBA is so hard to watch. I haven't watched a full NBA game since Derrick Rose was healthy. And that was mostly for Noah. The individual skill level is amazing, but there are very few teams in the NBA. Lots of players wearing the same color jersey, but not so many teams. How is Draymond Green not suspended for the next game? How did he not foul out of that game?
Celtic team is so unusual. Similar to the Heat series with a few blowout scoring performances each way. Don’t know which Celtic team will show up. Hard to make any predictions based on the last game. Other than the 4th quarter of game 1, Warriors have played competitively. Celtics seem to rely on hot 3 point shooting for success. Then again, Warriors seem to rely on that as well. Clay had an awful shooting night in game 2 and warriors still won handily
Derrick rose in his prime was the only thing that got me to watch the NBA in several years. There are a handful of others lately but the game is just 3 ball chucking now. The argument that green shouldn't have been thrown out the other night was ridiculous. The guy has a history of getting technical fouls and he should have been on good behavior after getting one early. Instead the announcers and former ref went on about how it was a good call not to call another technical because it would have resulted in an ejection. Garbage
The NBA finals are fun to watch when you have a Gator to root for. Too bad Cheez isn't going to be on the bench for GS. But the only way I will ACTUALLY watch a game is when I have a DVR available. There is NO WAY I am staying up to get to the end of a game. I prefer to wake up early, stay away from the sports stories, and then watch what I want and fast forward through the tedious stretches. Game 3 was pretty good. I just hope there will be a game (or two) that is contested down the stretch. Right now they are over by the middle of the 4th quarter. I guess Game 1 was sort of close at the end but I don't think it was all that close. I think Boston had to have a serious brain fart to have lost that one.
This sounds correct. He is a damn fine distributor and can hit open shots if they sag away from him, but his size limits him on defense. WAY smaller than the vast majority of NBA guards.
This is a late post but I cannot believe that foul called on Horford defending Curry late in 4th wasn’t overturned. Curry obv held him off with forearm while attempting to drive and make shot. Without curry’s forearm I don’t think there would have been contact at all. Oh well. Same as it ever was
I don’t have a dog in the fight. I just want the series to go seven games. That being said, Steph had an incredible night moving and shooting. Boston threw the kitchen sink at him, and he kept finding just enough space to shoot. Going into Boston & getting an almost “ must-win” game was impressive. Watching each Coach make adjustments both in-game and game to game has been a part of what made this series, to me. That, plus the ability of GS to turn the tide in a 3-4 minute span and Boston’s response to those runs has made the difference in 4th quarters . Game 5 is gonna be a dog-fight. Down to best of three….with neither team having a clear advantage. While scoring has carried the headlines, the defense, rebounding and taking care of the ball have been the truer benchmark of who won.
