An article that I read stated that he hadn’t visited Florida. The only school on his list of four finalists that he hasn’t visited. So if he visited it must have been top secret. Maybe I’m being pessimistic but it doesn’t seem like Florida is his top choice. I’d love to see him choose the Gators but not getting my hopes up.
So, a week ago, Efe announced that he was down to returning to Washington State or transferring to Arizona, Maryland or Florida. This was after hearing from about 150 schools. And yet, you say that he has been scratched off Florida’s list for 2 weeks (which was before he even said that Florida was a finalist). Do you care to elaborate?
Maybe I’m being optimistic, but he narrowed about 150 schools down to 3, including Florida, without even a visit to Florida. So, obviously, he likes what the Gator coaching staff has told him about how he would be used at UF. A visit to UF could seal the deal.

Yeah IF he visits. I haven’t seen anything indicating that he has scheduled or intends to schedule that visit. No doubt it would make Florida more than a hat on the table but until it takes place, him choosing the Gators is little more than wishful thinking.
I don’t think that he starts at Arizona, and he’s fighting with a lot of big men for playing time. Maryland is certainly a possibility, and they gave the excitement of a new coach. My guess is that he would start at UF, and Holden has been explaining to him how he would use him and CC together. We shall see. One way or the other, I expect Holden to find a solid big man through the transfer portal.
The Athletic published an article 3 hours ago that says that Florida has moved on from Efe. So that’s that. Golden told them that he is still looking for a big man. The article also said that JJ is close to fully recovering from his eye injury.
