so, turns out the guy Trump supports to replace Liz, Anthony Bouchard, impregnated a 14 yo when he was 18...she committed suicide at 20. Wyoming senator discloses impregnating 14-year-old at 18
A quick note on the party that claims to be representing conservatives replacing Cheney with Stefanik. Rep. Liz Cheney - Scorecard 117: 98% | Heritage Action For America Cheney has a 98% conservative rating for the most recent session, an 80% overall rating from the Heritage Foundation. Rep. Elise Stefanik - Scorecard 117: 84% | Heritage Action For America Stefanik has an 84% conservative rating for the most recent session, and overall 48% (not a typo, 48%, less than halfway conservative) rating.
Is anyone like me? Ya know, loving on Liz Cheney was so "out of vogue" not long ago. Damn, I would vote for her to be President now!!!
I guess in some states (hell maybe most states), that's not rape? I was in the Navy when I was 18. Wouldn't have occurred to me impregnate someone in Junior High. I am assuming it wasn't illegal, but sure seems slimey AF.
The guy says it was like the Romeo and Juliet story. Except in this case Romeo and Juliet get divorced and then Juliet kills herself.
Fake news. I am sure it was Hillary Clinton or Bill Gates that brainwashed the both through digital pizza and only after being manipulated didctgey get pregnant. Honestly.....Trump was a pervert. Gaetz. Now this turd. This is quite the group.
Some states in recent years have locked up 18 and 19 year olds for being with people just 1-2 years younger. That’s actually pretty messed up, seems like a state overreach or just plain lacking common sense. 18 and 14 is a bigger gap and most people would consider creepy, if not outright statutory rape due to the age of the minor. Maybe back in the day it wasn’t illegal due to weaker laws protecting women. Interestingly this guy is estranged from his son, and talks about his “poor life choices” as being the reason why. Dude needs to look in the mirror.
Cheney and Pence take the fight to Trump, from Georgia to Wyoming The battle for the Republican Party is entering a new phase, and Rep. Liz Cheney sounded the first shot of it on Sunday evening. “We face a threat we have never faced before: a former president attempting to unravel our constitutional republic. At this moment we must all summon the courage to stand against that,” Cheney, a Wyoming Republican and Donald Trump’s chief antagonist in the GOP, said in a speech Sunday night. “With this noble act, George Washington set the indispensable example of the peaceful transfer of power in our country. This is what President Reagan called ‘nothing short of a miracle.’ This is what President Kennedy called, in his inaugural address, ‘a celebration of freedom,’” Cheney said. “And this sacred obligation to defend the peaceful transfer of power has been honored by every American president, except one.”
She and Kinzinger are the few voices of reason left. Abortion issue aside I'd vote for either of them if they ran in 2024. If they'd pick the middle ground on that? They have respect earned over the Jan 6 thing/standing up to Trump, so they'd be able to get some moderate Democrat votes.
Cheney committed to continuing the fight. Liz Cheney says she will not remain a Republican if Donald Trump is GOP nominee in 2024 | CNN Politics
Perhaps, but still I respect that she drew a moral line and is paying a personal price to stand by it. Pretty far from an epidemic of that behavior right now.
You admire her because she is anti-Trump. She is not a good person. She is not for the low wage earner and the middle class person. She is the most unAmerican politician there is and she only cares about power. She is part of the political class that looks down on you and you lift her up as a champion for what is right. She is a phony.
