Russians learning to deploy drones for recon and attack. Hopefully not true but no reason to doubt it other than there was no video that I saw. I feel a stalemate coming if Ukraine can't defend against the drone. Perhaps the genesis of todays report that US would be sending radar equipment with latest arms shipment. I suspect the "radar" also included jamming capabilities to disrupt drone communications War games, being played out in real life. The intel that the west is getting from the blood of the Ukrainian defense forces is massive. Should / would arms manufacturers deploy experimental tech in the field? if it works, great, if it doesn't, did your tech failure result in loss of life? How much is AI used to war game these scenarios? or is it? Russian Troops Destroy 2 Battalions of Ukrainian Tanks Mid-Preparation (msn.com) The Russian military said: "On May 14, 2022, Russian servicemen in the Zaporizhzhia region stopped an attempted counterattack by Ukrainian armed formations." The MoD said Russian troops destroyed two mechanized battalions of tanks and infantry fighting vehicles with artillery fire and drones as well as incoming fire from tanks and armored vehicles. The Russian MoD said as a result of the attack, they destroyed 26 Ukrainian tanks, 12 infantry fighting vehicles, and killed around 100 soldiers. The Russian military also said that the attack was launched due to the work of reconnaissance troops using drones.
I thought we had radar planes in the vicinity. Is it because the drones aren't high enough? And where are they launched from? Time to target those areas.

I would be very surprised if we had U.S. airborne radar over Ukraine. One of them would have been “accidentally” shot down by now.

Truly, I don’t know. The range and capabilities of those aircraft would be highly classified. But I would think that AWACS flying over NATO countries would have difficulty, to say the least, acquiring and tracking small unmanned aircraft flying at low altitude in eastern Ukraine.

It turns out that the story that Hitler hated Jews because he was part Jewish was completely fabricated by a German military leader while waiting for his trial after the war, so you have to take stories like this with a grain of salt. According to the story, Putin is not related to Zelenskyy, but someone with a very similar name (extra points for the dancing baby daddy having the first name "Igor") produced a child with his youngest daughter. India is a relatively weak country that cannot afford to be in hot water with two of the world's major powers. They have already been having border disputes with China, as well as economic disputes. I think India gets a lot of its weaponry from Russia as well (I don't think they can afford U.S. weapons), so its ability to arm itself to keep Pakistan at bay is also at stake. Indians probably make the joke that they are between Iraq and a hard place.
I know another country that would happily sell India weapons. And as current events suggest, they might even be better weapons.
That country probably needs access to open water (or the world's largest plane) to deliver those weapons.

It sounds like you are talking about the U.S. I don't think that India can afford U.S. weapons. They have a massive population and a massive army to go with that. I'm afraid that if the Indian army all had M-16's and American ammunition, they would have to fight in their underwear.
I think that even Putin cares a little about what people are willing to say openly. If he is widely reviled and blamed for all of Russia's problems, it's only a matter of time before there is a military coup. The Russian people of 2022 are more educated about what is going on in the world around them than the Soviets were during the days of Stalin. I don't believe they would tolerate the same kinds of purges that Stalin got away with. That's why propaganda is so important to Putin. He has to get the Russian people to believe the propaganda, or he's dead.
Ukraine is over 600 miles from east to west. (Edited: not sure how a web search for "distance across Ukraine from east to west" came up with 200 miles. Probably should have gone from west to east.) Supposedly, a pilot of a plane at 39,000 feet can see the horizon 235 miles away, if there are no clouds, smoke or haze in the way. However, because of the sharp angle (39k ft = about 8 miles, which I calculate to be about 2 degrees at 235 miles) everything close to the horizon on the ground is generally going to be a blur and/or obscured by trees. Maybe some of the pilots on the board could comment.
