Imagine that. Russia may be reneging on the surrender agreement.

For God's sake, why? Just.....wow. I'm sure all these were Nazi seeds and the local Putin lovers will find some way to excuse it/blame Biden or NATO for this.

The russian people need to know this. feel bad for kids that have no choice but to be there and want no part of it. From the article

"Everyone was panicking, and wanted to leave, but there was no way," Ushakov told the journalist. "The only option to go was as '300' [wounded]. Some people couldn't bear it, and shot themselves dead... Two guys shot themselves, because they couldn't [cope], there was no other way out. Mentally they couldn't cope with what was going on there."

Ushakov referenced the term "Cargo 300," used by the Russian military to denote wounded soldiers returning home from Ukraine. He also shared a story he heard about one soldier who allegedly, after witnessing the bloodshed in Ukraine, just walked away and shot himself.

The captured soldier also explained that the desperation felt by Russian forces was compounded by a severe lack of rations, claiming that on some days, three soldiers would have to split only one dry ration.

Turkey needs to go as long as Erdogan is there but much like EU became addicted to Putin's oil and gas, NATO is heavily dependent on Turkey for manpower. Last time I saw something on it, Turkish troops are second only to US. Over 2x as many as France. Erdogan also threatens opening up the borders if the EU pushes him.

precision guided munitions for that artillery is moving the line back towards Russia

found this part interesting. Wonder if it is the cost of the planes being lost or unwillingness of pilots or commanders to send the planes into combat or not enough spare parts to keep them operational that is preventing them from using air power.

I also emphasized the enemy's continued use of strategic cruise missiles. On a daily basis, the enemy fires 10 to 14 cruise missiles at civilian infrastructure facilities.

"Recently, Russia has resorted to the tactics of massive use of supersonic anti-ship cruise missiles of the Kh-22 type on these facilities. Thus, last day at the Kremenchuk oil refinery, the enemy used 12 cruise missiles, two of which we managed to shoot down with Stinger MANPADS.

"One of the reasons for the enemy's transition to this tactic is the refusal to use aviation, which suffers vast losses."

retaliation for Israel sending iron dome to Ukraine? What happens when Israel takes out the RUssian launcher and personnel?

Russians fire S-300 at Israeli jets in Syria; could impact tactics, geopolitics - Breaking Defense

TEL AVIV: The Israeli Air Force may change its mode of operation when striking Iranian-related targets in Syria following a recent incident where Russia fired a missile from an S-300 air defense system at Israeli jets — a move that a senior Israeli defense source described as a “very strange and worrying” act by Russian forces.

The incident, which occurred on May 13 and was first reported by Israel’s Ch13, happened following a strike into Syria, when Israeli planes were on a return flight home. While it is unclear what jets were used in the operation, Israeli F-15s, F-16s and F-35s have all been used previously for strikes into Syria.

While no Israeli planes were damaged by the attack, it represents the first time the Russians have activated their air defense system against Israeli jets. Previously, Russia and Israel have operated under a tacit agreement that allows Israel to conduct strikes it feels are in its national interest as long as they do not target Russian military units inside Syria. Since 2015, IDF jets have conducted hundreds of airstrikes on Iranian-related targets in Syria without any Russian reaction.

Israeli officials declined comment on the missile launch. While there is a hotline between Israel and Russia to communicate on Syrian issues, Breaking Defense has learned that no warning was given before the Russian launch.

Multiple sources suggested that the S-300 launch was a retaliatory signal from Russia over Israel’s political support for Ukraine — tepid though it may be in comparison to other nations — as well as what one called “the result of the deteriorating power of the Kremlin on its overseas units” and of the poor situation of the Russians in Ukraine.

If you want to talk about executive power Biden is averaging more executive orders per year than any President since Carter.

executive power as in appointing your own slate of electors or altering election results. I agree that the legislature has abandoned their job and allowed the executive branch to do too much by EO. ANd we both know that one EO can have more impact than 100 EO's depending on what is in them so pure numbers of EO's is meaningless

As long as they’re constitutional there’s no problem. Why didn’t you provide the greater context that at some points in our history Presidents didn’t use the power and other times used it at rates 3x and even 4x rates Biden is on pace for?

True all of the Presidents from Teddy Roosevelt to Harry Truman used their executive powers at a greater rate than Biden. Maybe WWI, WWII, and the Korean War had something to do with that.

Maybe the wars explain Wilson, Roosevelt, and Eisenhower. It doesn’t explain Teddy, Taft, Harding, Coolidge, and Hoover though. Or the relative periods of no use vs the modern 35-80.

This made me chuckle for incongruity but I bet it is highly effective.

Ebikes in Ukraine are being modified to carry Javelin and other rockets. New kind of lite modern warfare.

the secondary explosions in this video must have been terrifying to anybody in proximity. obvious ammo dump. drones have obviously changed what wars will look like. The ability to evade air defenses and strike logistics targets well behind enemy lines is impressive

An excerpt from Russian TV of a retired Russian Army Colonel with some contrary opinions as to how things are going for the Russian war effort. Short answer: not well.

Pled guilty. Wouldn't mind a plea deal if it gets more arrested/tried. And by plea I mean jail versus death.
