That is great info and frankly something I will re-read before attending the games to get a head's up. But while statistics are what they are, that Cannabis comes from a very minor league kinda makes it apples and oranges. SOS #236 pretty much says it all. I'm thinking we send out Smiley to pitch that game.
Adding to this great post is that Ga Tech has not been to a regional since 2012 and Wisconsin has played in the last four out of five.
The Florida/Canisius game Friday is only being televised on ESPN+. All games are televised, either on one of the ESPN stations, the SEC Network or the ACC Network. Unfortunately I don't get ESPN+. The Wisconsin vs. Georgia Tech game is on ESPNU and I imagine the Saturday games will be on something other than ESPN+.
Someone to watch for. Mackenzie Donihoo severs ties with Oklahoma, announces plans to enter transfer portal
You can get ESPN Plus on any computer or cell phone. It is $7 per month, no annual contact required. I usually sign up for a month for the spring games and then drop. That's the best seven bucks I spend all year.
I know, I'm just paying anymore for TV service. We already have DISH Top 250, Amazon Prime, Netflix and Paramount+.
Also Oklahoma related, their superstar freshman pitcher Jordy Dahl has a forearm injury and may miss the remainder of this season. Would bring OU back to the rest of the field. They lost the Big 12 tournament championship game to Okie State without Bahl.
Her last name is actually Bahl, but your info. is correct. Here's the article about that. OU softball: Sooners pitcher Jordy Bahl 'day to day' with arm injury An interesting note is that Jordyn Bahl was the MaxPreps #1 pitcher and #1 overall recruit in last year's D1 signing class. Guess who the #2 pitching recruit and #9 overall player was? Lexie Delbrey
Lexie Delbrey has great potential and has shown flashes of it. I will be a Bahl believer after I see her against top teams.
Agree. I'm hoping she'll be like Barnhill and make a huge leap in effectiveness between her freshman and sophomore year.
Weather forecast getting worse for Friday. Now it's showing anywhere from 1/2" to .85" for Gainesville with thunderstorms and not just rain starting around 1 pm and not easing up until 11 pm.
In Kelly Barnhill's freshman year, 2016, she appeared in 27 games with 24 starts. Her record was 15-1 with a 1.36 ERA in 108 innings, giving up 52 hits with 55 walks and 167 K's, 11 wild pitches and 14 HBP. The team was 56-7 that year and 20-4 in the SEC, but that was the year Georgia upset them in Gainesville in the Super Regionals. Although Lexie Delbrey's freshman year isn't over yet, she has appeared in 28 games so far with 19 starts. Her record is 13-3 with a 2.30 ERA in 94.1 innings, giving up 52 hits with 56 walks and 102 K's, 12 wild pitches and 17 HBP. Pretty similar stats, with strikeouts being the big difference. Barnhill was the #3 pitcher on the 2016 team, but became the dominant, All-American ace in 2017, going 26-4 with a 0.51 ERA, 193.2 innings pitched, 40 walks and 359 strikeouts. What a jump in performance! Would that Delbrey can improve that much and I think it's possible, although probably not the overpowering strikeout pitcher Kelly was.
I disagree a little bit. I think she is going to be a strikeout pitcher, but it is also important to remeber how improved hitting is just in the years since barnhill was here. If delbrey does improve, which I think is very likely, I think we would see numbers similar to fouts. She'll easily be the best k pitcher since Kelly which I love. Barnhill also had the luxury of gourley and ocasio when she got in difficult spots as a freshman as well. Those number make me miss barnhill so much btw.
Yep weather pattern changing. 70% chance on Friday and Saturday through the afternoon into the evening of thunderstorms. Prepare for possible delays and long days.
Sounds like a mirky situation. Don't want to bring any culture problems into the program. Mya Stevenson would be a way better add. Marshall All-Time Home Run leader.
Sounds to me like she's had an injury. Even if not, with the amount of transfers at OU it has to be frustrating to ones that were recruited and been a part of the program and have put in hard work to lose their spot when OU cherrypicks the best players from other p5 teams.
