This just doesn't make sense. No way he's free wheeling that speech, right? It's all planned - so what's the angle here? Look at all those fancy western weapons? - a set up to future arguments? Or maybe it's a message to the west not the Russian people? "Don't worry - we'll take him out soon."
Maybe not tomorrow but I think the possibility is increasing. Problem is considering the hatred of Ukraine and the brainwashing on top of it, they'll probably just put someone like Putin but that can get the job done.

I believe a wise man in this thread, roughly my height, warned our local Russian agent what would probably happen when the Russians attempted large-scale riverine operations, given how ludicrously bad they had performed in other combined-arms operations.
Don’t think this was flippant or somehow circumvented the propaganda machine. I think this was a purposeful release, meant to test the waters on how it was received. I really think this is significant.
There's allegedly already an agreement to exchange the soldiers from the plant in Mariupol with Russian POWs. They did their job- hold out til people got out and occupy the Russians/waste their time and resources/allow time for more weapons to get into Ukraine.
agreed, this and some other blogs critical of the war are being left up. I don't think Putin is doing that. If he isn't doing it, who is in charge that is allowing it?

Kinda feels like the internal politics in Russia must be changing some of the outward statements. Finland votes in favour of joining NATO after Sweden applies as Putin says he has 'no problem' | Daily Mail Online and by the way, Turkey has said no to Sweden and Finland in NATO over their support of the Kurds. The vote requires unanimity. Probably just Turkey trying to get concessions on that issue, but I honestly believe right now they would boot Turkey before letting them stop that vote.
Yeah I'd read that. But Turkey said it wasn't an outright objection just that they wanted that addressed before voting in favor. So hopefully there's room there.
