And there is no risk to not getting jabbed and not getting covid. If there is hardly any risk if one gets covid then it is completely reasonable to move on with life taking precautions accordingly…

And what in the country is currently closed because of COVID? I just travelled last week to S. California for business for a few days. And then N. California for a wedding over the weekend. Nothing was closed. Very few were wearing a mask, and everyone had a great time. The business meeting required proof of full vaccination or a negative test 48 hours before the meeting started. It was great to see full people, who weren't in little Zoom boxes on my computer.

I only know and pass on what the scientific community reports. I don't pay attention to keyboard kowboys who make stuff up.

Florida kids can't participate in competitions or field trips to places that require proof of vaccinations or negative tests.

That burden is placed on them by our governor, but it is a very real limitation.

And it should have been that way long ago. We now get to deal with much worse mental illness. Vaccine hesitancy. Lack of trust in public health. And we still have people peddling a drug in which they could have the omicron spike protein adapted for delivery. Yet they want to ask for eua to jab 6 month olds.

I have hardly changed anything outside of having to engage in some virtue signaling if I had to go to a place requiring it. And if I could avoid it I would. Outside that we have been back to normal since Florida made the mistake of closing schools down for Spring of 2020. Thankfully our Governor realized how bad of a mistake that was!

Fortunately my kids have the means and have been to DC. Unfortunately some will miss their chance. All so the some can feel the pride in their great virtue.

Thankfully Ron DeSantis did not require kids who are at virtually no risk to take an unnecessary drug. The government leaders who did that were acting in the antithesis of science but enjoying their great virtue they could impose instead.

Too bad the vaccine mandate didn't stick. Could have saved thousands of lives. All age groups. Would've had less consternation and disagreement about if and when to open back up too.

Why can’t Florida kids go on trips that require vaccines or negative tests?

We're finding out more and more about how covid affects the entire body even in mild cases. It seems that even in a mild infection it attacks your brain and heart even if you are super healthy and are not obese. Multiple infections can't be good for anyone

long covid is causing lots of problems for people of all ages, kids and adults, mild case or severe case. some here seem to totally dismiss that risk, and it isn't small. the long covid impacts are often much worse than the original infection. Death isn't the only negative long time impact from covid

What doctors wish patients knew about long COVID | American Medical Association (ama-assn.org)

But even a mild SARS-CoV-2 infection can cause long COVID. And with the high transmissibility of the Omicron variant—which often results in milder disease outcomes—many patients may be concerned about developing long COVID.

It is estimated that anywhere from 10% to 30% of patients might experience long COVID after recovering—even if they weren’t very sick in the first place. This leaves many COVID long-haulers with questions about symptoms and what to do. One physician aims to clear up confusion about long-haul COVID-19 and what patients can expect.

Long COVID—or post-COVID conditions—is a wide range of new, returning or ongoing health problems people may experience more than four weeks after being first infected with SARS-CoV-2. Even people who did not have any symptoms can experience long COVID, which can present as different types and combinations of health problems and can range in lengths of time, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

DeSantis. He is preserving our freedoms, by limiting our freedoms. Yeah, it doesn't make any sense when you say it out loud.

The way the ban on vaccine passports is worded, schools with strict legal teams can't get permission to take students to places that require proof of vaccination.

The vaccine mandate has done generational damage to vaccine hesitancy most likely and destroyed trust in public health and medicine for that matter. All for a drug most people did not need.

It’s called a lot of students are not vaccinated and the idiotic places that required them made it too hard to coordinate a trip with a large group that is not vaccinated. A large group that is at almost no risk to the disease. These areas that required vaccines just hurt themselves for their great virtue. Really dumb policy.

Yes, it really is a dumb policy, because even if the students are vaccinated and their parents are willing to show proof of it, they still aren't allowed to go.

A political limitation. Everything DeSantis does is to score political points in his culture war, so he can suck-up to Trumpers.
