    Not.

Just want to make sure we never make the disastrous decisions that were made again. Never seen anything like it in my lifetime. Generational damage has been done. Many on too hot won’t feel it as most have the means to not feel it.

We cannot let this slide under the rug. People must be held accountable.

Personally I have most of the usual suspects in the thread on ignore. I don’t want to engage with people who won’t take place in a good faith debate and otherwise just repeating stuff that is demonstrably false.

On a different note I listened to a few minutes of the Daily podcast one million interviewing relatives and friends of people that died from Covid. One thing I found striking was among some, perhaps many, there is a palpable sense of anger that it didn’t have to happen. At the same time I heard that I thought of people in public and here just keep posting stuff that is no better than disinformation, the the vast subculture behind that has probably lead to hundreds of thousands of preventable deaths. I hope you guys are proud of yourselves.

    Don’t bother responding, I won’t see it.

That is the most terrible part, it didn't have to be this way.

Washington State had 120% of their expected deaths in 2021. Florida had 127% of their expected deaths in 2021. In 2020, Florida had 117% of its expected deaths, compared to 110% for Washington. These are deaths of all causes.

Provisional Death Counts for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19)

Also, the CAGR of GDP from Q4 2019 (the last period before Covid started) until Q4 2021 (the last state total released):

    Washington: 3.5%
    Florida: 2.7%

I think we have a new gold standard!

Fewer deaths and more economic growth? That sounds like a winning strategy.

Aaaand I have covid again. Last time asymptomatic. This time not so lucky. Pretty
    upsetting

Edit: yeah those updates about how covid is gone and at its lowest level mean nothing to me at the moment. Breathing is pretty difficult right now. Didn't sleep last night because of chills and choking. Started with sinus and GI issues before the Monster headache and other symptoms kicked in. Work is now interrupted as well. It's coming back around as I'm the 4th person I know of that has it now...

I don’t think you can compare a retirement state with so many more elderly with Washington state.

    My 2 cents

Excess deaths would already take into account the fact that you would expect a "retirement state" to have much higher rates of death.

I got my second Moderna booster Friday because of the uptick in cases in places. Miami Dade now
Moderate. First booster was in October. Had muscle aches, mild fever Fromm the shot yesterday, but milder Than previous 2 jabs. I finally took a Tylenol Last night around 6 and the symptoms were gone by 8.

Hopefully you can get access to antiviral pills. Also if it were me I’d probably be taking Benedryl and fluvoxamine (or fluoxetine).

It’s disappointing this thread has so many anti-vax anti-medical-community “I did my own research watch this video” posts. It would have been good to come here and get helpful info instead of constant nonsense.

Nice response. Classy really. It's my fault actually I haven't ever got a booster. Wife is fine. I'm going through it right now....

Wife has had all the boosters. I got complacent. Your outrage about the vaccine is bizarre. I'm guessing I have more medical training and experience with all of this. This is an evolutionary process. The vaccines aren't perfect but I wish i had taken a booster given how bad my symptoms are.

My wife has one. I'm OK so far but definitely heavy chested. I take no meds and have never had any abnormal labs so I'm pretty healthy for someone in their 40s but this is kicking my butt right now.

Coronavirus in the U.S.: Latest Map and Case Count

One only has to look at the since inception death rates and the vaccination rates by state to see an obvious strong negative correlation. Also as a general rule the high vax states were more likely to take stronger measures than non vax states.

and it isn’t obvious to me that the free for all states are doing better than the more cautious ones.

People simplistically think that regulation and restrictions just flat out reduce GDP. However to the degree these various prevention and reduction strategies work and reduce serious Covid spread they allow the economy to grow more.

Interesting. Somehow the use of fluoxetine for covid escaped me. Thank you

It would have been better at the beginning to have a Covid developments thread, and a Covid politics, debate and disinformation, etc thread.
