I LIVE here in the ‘shadow’ of Saban. Let me tell you, I can’t wait for him to ride off into the east towards their Lakehouse. But I’m not sure how many more years that’s going to be. The man seems to love the competition.
Does anyone know what happened? He's been on campus about six times this year. I figured he was a silent but now he's not ready?
I think you are probably both right. My bet is he's likely giving negotiations time to a new NIL player in the space. It's a new world.
I don't understand. You mean we are holding him off because of someone higher on our board now? If so that would seem like a risky game. If the new player doesn't commit the guy we told to wait is none too happy and likely has other options. So true. I remember they took 7 DL a few cycles back and were already loaded. Of course they look at who the player is leaning to other than Alabama. Smart recruiting because if a player doesn't make it to the field and leaves, the likelihood he goes to a school you play is far less than during the original recruiting cycle. Yes, and making a ton of money, wants another NC, has nothing better to do. Loves his work.
How many D linemen do we take, not counting pure edge prospects? Given that number, which of these prospects will the Gators end up with, Woods, Collins, LeBlanc, Parker, Faulk, Walker, Hardy, Norman, Hall, James and McDonald? Best case? Worst case? Candy, please give other posters a chance to guess before you weigh in. This should be fun.
Regardless of relative rankings of those you listed I would be disappointed if James was not in the class. The movement he has with that length and reach doesn't come around very often.
