That was my last year at UF. But I was happy, because Doug Dickey was gone, and I knew better times lay ahead.
I wonder if any seeds or cuttings still exist from that cultivar. Grown indoors with today's technology, that stuff would send you back in time to your UF years and back to the prairie, sprawled out in the grass watching the stars and waiting for the sun to rise.
Liked these remarks from Creed's 247 profile… Serves up an adequate deep ball – and is being recruited by at least one FBS program to take snaps at the next level – but is viewed by most as a wide receiver at the next level given his ability to change directions and make people miss in the open field. Sounds like the voice of experience there Strange! Interesting - back in the 70s when I was at UF it was all about Colombian Gold. The stuff was half seeds and stems but really good. Ahhh, the old double album cover opened up separating the seeds from the grass….. the memories….
They have a strain with that name at the dispensaries, I never got to experience the original and don't know how authentic it is but I enjoy it
Was there at the same time but transitioning to locally grown sensimilla, tended to by ornamental horticulture/landscape architecture majors. That brown Columbian (not really gold) was so dry you could burn your house down. The sensi buds were so dank, you needed a blow torch to light your bong. It must have been from Indica seeds because it smelled like hashish. Double albums were essential if there were seeds but still still handy with the sensi Baked occasionally after my UF years till early in our marriage but nothing until Illinois went legal in '20. We're on it a few times a week now, mostly vapes, drops and edibles but I have to have some flower around. My autistic, straight edge son got on my the other day for rolling a joint (technically stuffing a cone) without using a double album. Got a weed thread going in the pub. Might not be authentic but it's certainly more potent. There are a few very good Florida cultivars. We get Triangle Kush, Florida Orange and Florida Triangle up here. Funny thing I heard from a reliable source during my later years at UF. UPD officers assigned to the stadium during football games were directed to ignore people toking up in the stands and focus on drinkers since the stoners were generally the best behaved fans.
Ahhh thanks for the reply Strange. Throwback to more memories — you’ll laugh but I used to roll a big sturdy joint of the gold with one of those big JOB double wide wheat papers. Keep it in the ash tray of my car and it would last for a week. 11:00 pm driving south on 441 windows down, dropping down in elevation to enter the Prairie, open the ash tray, fire up that joint …. 2 hits is all you’d need - take in the night. Uriah Heep, hadn't thought of their music in many years. Was still buying vinyl in those days. Thai stick was going around when I was there. Lots of hash as well. When available we liked to 'hot knife' little chunks of hash. The good old days.
In an effort to get this thread ‘out of the grass’ and back on the Creed, gotta say I just watched a video of this young man, and wow, is he electric! If he can translate his athleticism to WR, kid is going to be a star. And according to some that were at last years FNL, he had the best hands/was one of the best receiver prospects in the camp.
Heard the same thing about him at FNL. Read somewhere that he's going to play WR this next season. I wouldn't care either way. QBs usually have great hands as WRs and always have great instincts running routes and adjusting to coverages. Big bro was a QB and he's turned into a fine collegiate WR. IMHO, Creed has a higher ceiling. Maybe he'll grow another inch or two.
If we whiff on QBs, Creed is more than capable. I’m pretty sure he can make all the throws and is pretty accurate.
Brown will be a great one but he needs some grooming. I’m not optimistic about him being ready to start by 2023, though he could be a star in another year. Whittemore is a great QB but I’m hoping we won’t need him except as a Wildcat.
