I know that Osun wanted to play with Lofton, but they may be breaking up the team. He is still being evaluated from what I'm hearing.
Lofton fills one of the remaining holes in the roster. Osun would fill the other IMO but Golden looks like he knows what he's doing!
It’s year 1 for Golden, not year 7. And White didn’t need a title. He needed to put a less boring offense on the floor and build a program that, with his own players, was better than a perennial bubble team. Do you think Golden will be treated any differently after 7 years if he posts nearly identical results to White’s?
I'm also hearing that Lofton almost lost his spot, because he wanted to play with Osun, but Todd Golden convinced him it was his to lose if he would break up the team. Gibson was ready and waiting.
Todd Golden will be expected to compete for and win titles just as White was. Under White we not only won zero titles, we were rarely even in contention at the conference or national level. No one is changing standards, Golden knows what is expected of him.
Todd Golden himself set those same expectations. Why can't some of our fans feel the same? Should they go tell coach to check his aspirations?
It's year one of a coaching change in the day of portal transfers and NIL. Titles are always the expectation. Year 1 with a cobbled together roster - not so much
This is absolutely HUGE!! Big time. We needed this for next year’s squad bad! I’m content if this is all we get but I’m thinking coach wants and will get more. We have a ton to offer!
I would say 6 tournament appearances at a school with average pedigree historically is a national level. We aren’t who u think we are
Nice to have a player that can play the last 5 minutes of a game and not hold my breath every time they step to the line.
I guess you should go tell our new coach he's delusional. Just another Gator with unrealistic expectations right? Florida basketball coach Todd Golden lays out expectations for first year with Gators
