We've seen this movie before at UF and many other places. It takes at least a year under a new regime to learn how to win again, learn how to handle adversity and get on the same page.

The record this year hardly matters. Expect gain and pain.

 

Yeah this isn't basketball where the right guy with a couple of players can really flip a team. There are so many moving parts on a football team that people shouldn't expect immediate "success" record wise. Spurrier was one of the few to come in and have instant success that I can recall.

 

if we’re being fair, Mullen did pretty well outta the gate in the first two seasons, albeit with a few stumbles with KY and Misery.

No you're correct. Crazy he flamed out so badly because yes, he had immediate success. Probably would have had more had Trask been the starter but he wasn't chosen and kept getting injured.

Pretty impressive that we had 2 coaches come in and have success like that when you consider how much Saban, Meyer and others struggled their first year.

 

If Mullen can do it in year one, so can Napier. I don’t expect much more than 8-4 give or take a game, but it’s not out of the question to be third in tge sec right off the bat.

 

And Spurrier inherited a team that was ready to rumble

 

Hall was a great recruiter.

 

I prefer real change and long term success. A solid foundation that is sustainable. After all, it's a journey.

 

For sure, but winning 8-10 is not out of the question nor should we be ok with 5-6 wins.
