With Goddard back and Decker emerging they should have more pop already. The wild card is Gigante. Is she a factor in the circle? Is she a viable power hitting 1b? I don't know the answers to that....could change the dynamics IF she is a factor
Not necessarily. SC did win a game from KY this weekend so I guess they have a shot of beating A&M......Gators need to win 2 in SEC tourney for a decent regional seed.

Host team has option of picking the time slot that they play their opening game. I'm very much surprised they didn't pick the 7:30 slot when it is cooler and more Gator fans in the stands.
With 4 games, the first 3 could run long, they have to clear the stadium after the 2nd session, Gators could have been playing at 8-9 o'clock. Smart move.
I don't understand why Florida is not the 4 seed and Kentucky the 5 seed? The Gators have the better RPI and are ranked ahead of the mildcats in every poll. Both have the same SEC record at 13-11 and did not play head-to-head. What did the SEC committee use to justify moving UK over UF in the seed process? I actually like UF getting to play another game this week as our freshmen can use all of the experience they can get and it gives a couple of the seniors a chance to get back on track, see Hannah Adams presuming she plays and Charla Echols who is down in batting average and homerun production, but the Gators should have had the bye into the Thursday game.
The tie breaking rules say if 3 teams tie, the breaker is the respective records against each other. As noted earlier, Ky swept Lsu and are 3-0. The Gators only beat lsu 2 out of 3, hence Ky the #4, UF the #5 and lsu the #6.
still do not know how a 3 way tie is broken if 1 team did not play either of the others. hence my desire for a 30 game conference schedule, plus eliminates 6 cupcake-type games.
Porshe - Agreedd especially with our usual lack of hitting in critical times. While we did beat aTm 2 of 3 we were shut out 5-0 in game 2. We did not play usc this year but we did lose one to them last year, when once again we failed to hit. Do not count on any automatic wins.
Gator Softball is now ranked 10, 11 & 13, depending on which poll you look at, with an RPI ranking of 13. Even if we win 4 straight this week and win the SEC tournament, I doubt we can get moved up enough to be a #8 seed. I just want to see more offense this week with solid contact and fewer weak pop ups and ground outs.
